The wait is over! We know when the European version of HyperOS 3 will be revealed

After a month of waiting, the time has come. Xiaomi has officially confirmed that HyperOS 3 will arrive globally on September 24, along with the new Xiaomi 15T series of phones. While users in China have been enjoying the new system version since the end of August, the rest of the world had to wait. Now we know that the wait will have a specific end date.

Xiaomi 15T as the flagship of HyperOS 3

It’s no coincidence that Xiaomi linked the premiere of its new system with the launch of the 15T series. These phones will get HyperOS 3 right out of the box and will serve as a showcase of what the new version can do. According to available information, we can expect at least the Xiaomi 15T Pro model, likely complemented by the basic Xiaomi 15T.

As for beta testing, the first in line will likely be owners of Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro phones. If you own one of the supported models and want to try out the new system before others, prepare for quick registration – spots in the beta program are usually limited and fill up fast.

Faster, more efficient, and with a dynamic island

HyperOS 3 is not just a cosmetic update. Xiaomi has worked on optimization, and the numbers look promising: 21% faster app launches, 10% lower power consumption during video playback, and 15% higher frame rates in games. For everyday use, this means smoother operation and longer battery life on a single charge.

However, most attention is drawn to Xiaomi Super Island – its own version of the dynamic island known from iPhones. Unlike Apple, Xiaomi allows displaying up to three islands at once, supports multitasking in small windows, and you can drag content directly from them into applications.

When Android befriends macOS

A surprise is Xiaomi’s effort to break down barriers between ecosystems. HyperOS 3 will allow running Android applications directly on macOS (up to three windows simultaneously), unlocking the phone using Touch ID on a Mac, and synchronizing notifications between devices. For users who combine an Android phone with a MacBook, this is essentially a dream come true.

The system also brings an improved gallery with animal recognition (finally, your cat will get its own album), new dynamic wallpapers generated by artificial intelligence, and redesigned icons with rounder corners and more vibrant colors. Aesthetically, it’s a step in the right direction, even if some elements seem inspired by the competition.

Security and privacy first

Xiaomi has not forgotten about security either. HyperOS 3 brings two-factor authentication directly into the system, better control over app permissions, and the ability to find a lost phone even when it’s turned off. The latter is a feature that Samsung and Apple have offered for years, but better late than never.

Overall, HyperOS 3 looks like a solid upgrade that combines proven ideas from competitors with its own innovations. The question remains how quickly it will reach older phones – while Xiaomi promises to expand the beta program to dozens of devices, experience with previous versions teaches caution.
