Xiaomi reports tremendous success for its new Xiaomi 17 series, which has surpassed the one million units sold mark in record time. According to company president Lu Weibing, this sales milestone achieved the fastest pace in the brand’s history. The company’s management is already responding by increasing production to meet the extraordinary demand.

Record Sales Exceeded Expectations

“Many fans are very interested in the sales progress of the Xiaomi 17 series: current sales have already exceeded 1 million units, which is faster than previous generations! We are increasing production and inventory to get the devices to customers as soon as possible, sincerely thank you,” Lu Weibing stated on the Weibo social network. Achieving this milestone in just one week since its launch surpasses the pace of all previous generations of the brand’s flagship phones.

The extraordinary interest in the new series may also be related to Xiaomi skipping numbering, directly introducing the 17 series after last year’s 15 series. It includes three models with different focuses – the basic and compact Xiaomi 17, the better-equipped Xiaomi 17 Pro, and the larger Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.

Key Features of the New Xiaomi 17 Series

The base model Xiaomi 17 features compact dimensions with a 6.3″ display and an exceptionally large battery. Despite being a smaller device, it includes a 7000mAh battery with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Performance is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset with up to 16 GB of RAM.

The camera setup of the base model includes a trio of 50Mpx cameras – the main Light Fusion 950, an ultrawide, and a telephoto lens with 2.6× optical zoom. The front camera also has a 50 Mpx resolution. The LTPO OLED display offers a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of up to 3500 nits.

The 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models introduce a major innovation: a large rear display called the Magic Back Screen”. It occupies approximately one-third of the back and surrounds the camera module. The display can show notifications, widgets, and custom themes, and of course, it allows for convenient selfie-taking using the main cameras.

The most equipped model, the 17 Pro Max, features a 6.9″ main display, a new camera with the Light Hunter 950L sensor, and a 7500 mAh battery with improved L-stack technology. All phones run on the latest version of HyperOS 3, built on Android 15.

When Can We Expect It in the Czech Republic?

Previous information suggests that only the base model of Xiaomi 17 is likely to reach the Czech market. The more equipped Pro and Pro Max versions will remain exclusive to the Chinese market. Furthermore, we will have to wait for the global launch until early 2026, likely February or March.

The introduction of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra camera phone is also expected early next year, which could complement the current trio of models. This device is also likely to make its way to us.

Prices in China start at 4499 yuan (approximately 13,100 CZK) for the base model in the 12/256 GB configuration. In the Czech Republic, the Xiaomi 17 could cost around 18-20 thousand CZK, but official European prices have understandably not yet been set.

Will the Xiaomi 17, with its compact body and large battery, succeed in the Czech market?
