The new series brings 11.2-inch high-resolution displays, powerful processors, and several interesting features, including the ability to play PC games. Given that their predecessors, the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro, are officially sold in the Czech Republic, it can be expected that these new models will also arrive here eventually. Display and design impress at first glance Performance determines the price Battery and charging without compromise HyperOS 3 brings PC features Cameras and other features Pricing and availability Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro specifications comparison Display and design impress at first glance Both tablets feature an 11.2-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 3200 × 2136 pixels (3.2K), offering a pixel density of 345 PPI and a maximum brightness of 800 nits. The screen supports a 144Hz refresh rate and boasts TÜV Rheinland eye protection certifications, including hardware blue light reduction, flicker elimination, and circadian rhythm support. The design of both models is identical – the all-metal body is only 5.75 mm thick and weighs 485 grams. Xiaomi also offers a special version with a nano-textured display, which is 0.05 mm thicker and 9 grams heavier, but offers 70% lower reflectivity and 44% better glare resistance. Three color variants are available: black, ice blue, and turquoise green. The tablets support the Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro stylus with innovative gestures, as well as a magnetically attachable keyboard. Performance determines the price The main difference between the models this year also lies in performance. The Xiaomi Pad 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process, which achieves approximately 2.4 million points in the AnTuTu benchmark. Compared to its predecessor, it offers 32.5% higher CPU performance and 51% faster GPU. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro received the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite, manufactured using second-generation 3nm technology, which surpasses the 3 million point mark in AnTuTu. Compared to the previous generation, it brings 78% higher CPU performance and an impressive 105% faster graphics. Thanks to its powerful hardware, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro can do something unique – run PC games locally. Using XiaomiWinPlay technology, it performs three-layer virtualization of Windows games, including instruction translation, API interfaces, and graphics capabilities. Currently, it supports titles like Hollow Knight and It Takes Two, which can be downloaded from Steam and played with a Bluetooth gamepad. Battery and charging without compromise Both models are equipped with a 9,200 mAh battery, which, according to the manufacturer, lasts up to 10.5 hours of gaming, 14 hours of video watching, or 20 hours of video conferencing. The difference is traditionally in charging speed – the Xiaomi Pad 8 supports 45W, while the Pro version offers faster 67W. Both tablets also support reverse charging with 22.5W output. HyperOS 3 brings PC features These new models are the first tablets with the Xiaomi HyperOS 3 operating system, which brings improved split-screen functionality, a PC version of the browser with support for over 50 keyboard shortcuts, and full-featured versions of WPS Office, CAJViewer for scientific publications, and CAD software for technical drawing. The system also supports wireless screen mirroring for both Windows and Mac computers, and even compatibility with the Apple ecosystem for easy file transfer between iPhone, iPad, and Xiaomi tablets. Cameras and other features In terms of cameras, the models differ significantly. The Xiaomi Pad 8 has a 13Mpx rear camera and an 8Mpx front camera, while the Pro version offers a 50Mpx main sensor and a 32Mpx selfie camera. Both versions support 4K video at 30/60 fps (Pad 8 only 30 fps for the rear camera). Both tablets are equipped with four microphones and four speakers with Dolby Atmos support. They also feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB 3.2 Gen 1 for fast data transfer, and an infrared port for controlling home appliances. The Pro model additionally includes a fingerprint reader in the side button. Pricing and availability In China, prices for the Xiaomi Pad 8 start at 2199 yuan (approximately 6,400 CZK converted) for the 8+128 GB version. The highest configuration, 12+256 GB, costs 2799 yuan (8,200 CZK). The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro starts at 2799 yuan (8,200 CZK) for the basic 8+128 GB model and tops out at 4199 yuan (12,300 CZK) for the premium 16+512 GB variant. Given that the previous generation Xiaomi Pad 7 and 7 Pro are officially sold in the Czech Republic, the arrival of these new models can also be expected. However, with added tax and other fees, we will naturally pay more for the tablets. Last year, the basic model started at 8,999 crowns here, and the Pro version at 13,499 crowns.
