Wireless headphones are comfortable, but they have three disadvantages: they run out of battery, they are more expensive, and their battery dies after a few years. You can now buy Dark Project SONO Wired with code ALZADNY20 for 1 192 Kč instead of 1 490 Kč, and they offer 53mm drivers, which are above average even for more expensive headsets.

👍 Take them if you play on multiple platforms and don’t want to deal with charging or pairing – just plug in the jack and play.
🤔 Hesitate if you also want headphones for your phone on the go; these are wired and there’s no wireless option.
💰 Price: 1 192 Kč for a headset with 53mm drivers and a rating of 4.9 out of 5

Fifty-three millimeter drivers are above standard here

Most gaming headsets in this price range use 40 or 50 millimeter drivers. 53 mm means a larger diaphragm, resulting in fuller sound and better bass reproduction – in practice, for example, more noticeable impacts of explosions, but also more precise localization of footsteps. The frequency range of 20 to 20 000 Hz covers the entire audible spectrum, and the closed-back design blocks out ambient noise.

Versatility is also practical. Connection via a 3.5mm jack means the headphones work on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch – no receivers, no pairing, no firmware updates. The microphone is detachable, foldable, and features noise cancellation, so when you’re not playing online, you simply remove it and have regular headphones for music. Plus, there’s a separate jack for the microphone, which you’ll appreciate on computers with two separate inputs.

What you need to know

The weight of 370 grams is rather high for gaming headphones, so take a break during all-day sessions. The cable is only 15 centimeters long – this is intentional, as it connects to an extension cable or directly to a console controller, but you won’t reach a computer under the desk with it on its own and will need an extension.

And of course, it’s a purely wired headset without backlighting and without spatial audio – those who want virtual surround or RGB will have to look elsewhere. However, for less than 1 200 Kč, it’s a solid foundation that won’t run out of battery in the middle of a match and works with everything you have at home.

Do you play with wired headphones, or have you switched to wireless?
