The GeForce RTX 5070 graphics run at 115W TGP – that’s full power, not a cut-down version for thin laptops. The Blackwell architecture brings DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, full ray tracing, and Nvidia Reflex 2 for minimal latency. 8GB VRAM is sufficient for 1080p and 1440p gaming, but for 4K textures, memory starts to be a bit lacking, so keep that in mind if you plan to connect the laptop to an external display.

The Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor has 16 cores with a boost frequency of up to 5.1 GHz. It also includes an NPU for AI tasks – OMEN AI in Gaming Hub automatically optimizes game settings for maximum FPS. Unleashed mode allows manual overclocking without entering the BIOS. 32GB DDR5-5600 RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD are standard in this configuration.

240Hz display with 2.5K resolution

The 16″ IPS panel with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 (16:10 aspect ratio) and a 240 Hz refresh rate is very solid: 3 ms response time, 500 nits brightness, 100% sRGB coverage. Anti-glare surface and Eyesafe certification for blue light reduction are also present.

DC Dimming eliminates flickering at lower brightness – pleasant for night gaming. The 16:10 aspect ratio provides more vertical space than common 16:9 displays.

Thin, but not light

The thickness is 22.7 mm at its thickest point, and the weight is 2.42 kg. For a gaming laptop with a full-fledged RTX 5070, this is decent – most competitors weigh over 2.5 kg. The plastic body with a soft-touch finish feels better than it looks.

Ports are located at the back and sides: USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 2× USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI 2.1, RJ-45 LAN, and a combo audio jack. Thunderbolt 4 is missing – which is unfortunately common for gaming laptops in this price range.

The 70 Wh battery supports 150W charging, and its endurance is not bad at all. For regular work, you can expect 8 – 10 hours, but for more demanding video editing or gaming, count on a maximum of two hours.

On Reddit, users praise the OMEN Slim’s cooling – the GPU stays around 71 °C under full load, which is excellent for a laptop with a 115W graphics card. TimesSpy benchmark scores are around 13-14 thousand points.

Criticism traditionally targets the 8GB VRAM – it’s sufficient for current games, but some titles with high textures already hit the limit.

The RGB keyboard backlight has an interesting specialty: instead of four uniform zones, it separately highlights the WASD keys. More practical than cosmetic effects.
