When Apple introduced the iPhone Air last September, the price tag of 29,990 CZK raised legitimate questions. A phone with a single camera and a smaller battery at a price close to the iPhone 17 Pro? Unlikely. But now the situation has changed — the iPhone Air 256 GB is now offered on Heureka starting from 21,500 CZK, and at this price, it’s a completely different consideration.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you want the lightest and thinnest iPhone with Pro-level performance and don’t mind a single camera.
⚠️ Consider if a single day’s battery life is enough for you and if you can do without an ultrawide lens and greater zoom.
💡 For 21,500 CZK you get a titanium phone with an A19 Pro chip, 120Hz OLED display, and Face ID

Why the iPhone Air starts to make sense at 21,500 CZK

The iPhone Air has been a phone full of contradictions from the start. On one side, there’s the 5.6mm thickness, a titanium body weighing just 165 grams, and the A19 Pro chip — precisely the processor that also powers the iPhone 17 Pro. On the other side, a single camera, a single speaker, and a battery that can quickly drain with intensive use.

At the original price of 29,990 CZK, these compromises hurt. You could get an iPhone 17 with two cameras and better battery life for less, or pay extra for the Pro version. But at 21,500 CZK, the whole calculation changes. Suddenly, you have a phone with a Pro chip, premium construction, and a 6.5″ OLED display at a very attractive price.

What to expect and what not to expect from it

The display is one of the best on the market — a 6.5″ Super Retina XDR OLED with a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate and brightness up to 3,000 nits. Thanks to the A19 Pro, its performance can handle everything you throw at it, from demanding games to Apple Intelligence features. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, 5G, and dual eSIM.

However, there is only one camera — a 48Mpx main sensor without an ultrawide or telephoto lens. It’s perfectly sufficient for everyday photos and social media, but if you’re used to the flexibility of Pro models, you’ll have to make do. The selfie camera with 18 Mpx and Center Stage feature, on the other hand, is very well done.

The battery with a capacity of 3,149 mAh is small by today’s standards. A typical day in the office will be fine, but traveling or intensive photography will require a power bank. Charging via USB-C and MagSafe (20W) is standard.

Smaller e-shops, but the warranty holds

The lowest prices on Heureka are mainly offered by smaller e-shops, not large chains like Alza. This might deter some — and it’s fair to say that you’ll pay more at larger retailers. However, it’s important that Apple provides at least one year of international warranty on all its products, which is valid throughout the EU regardless of where you bought the phone. You just need to visit an authorized service center or Apple Store anywhere in Europe.

Furthermore, the iPhone Air is not among phones with frequent hardware issues. IP68 resistance, Ceramic Shield 2 on both the front and back, and a titanium frame make this model a solidly durable device. Even when buying from a smaller store, there’s no risk that you’ll need warranty service more often than with any other iPhone.

Who is this a good purchase for

The iPhone Air for 21,500 CZK is an ideal choice for those who want a premium iPhone with the latest chip but don’t need three cameras and two-day battery life. The design remains the most attractive Apple has ever produced — 5.6 mm and 165 grams is a category where the iPhone Air has little competition.

The price drop from the original 29,990 CZK to 21,500 CZK (a discount of over 28%) makes the iPhone Air one of the most interesting offers on the market. The phone is available in four colors — Sky Blue, Space Black, Cloud White, and Light Gold. The blue and black variants are currently the cheapest, while white and gold are slightly more expensive. You can find an overview of current prices on Heureka.

Would you be tempted to own the thinnest iPhone in history, or would you rather opt for a model with a better camera?
