If you are among the users who sometimes forget to wish someone a happy birthday or send an important message at the right time, WhatsApp is preparing a practical solution for you. The popular communication app is working on a scheduled messages feature that will allow you to write a message in advance and have it sent automatically at a set time.

How will it work?

According to WABetaInfo, which prematurely revealed the new feature in the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS, users will simply write a message and choose a specific date and time for sending. The message will then remain in the queue and will be sent automatically at the chosen moment without further user intervention.

Scheduled messages will be clearly displayed in a separate section directly within the chat info. Here, they can be managed or deleted before sending – in such a case, the recipient will not be informed.

Free for all users

While WhatsApp already offers the option to schedule messages within Business Broadcasts, this is a paid feature primarily intended for businesses. The new feature should be available for free to all users and work in both private conversations and group chats.

iPhone users can already schedule messages using the Shortcuts app, but this solution is quite cumbersome. Native integration directly into WhatsApp will definitely be more convenient.

When exactly the feature will reach regular users is not yet clear. It is currently in the development phase and is not accessible even to beta testers.
