This 55″ Hisense TV features a Mini LED panel, up to 144 Hz, and 40W sound with Dolby Atmos. It has now dropped to an all-time low price.

If you’ve recently considered purchasing a TV with more advanced backlighting but were deterred by the price of OLED models, Hisense offers an interesting alternative. The U7Q series combines Mini-LED technology with a quantum dot layer and has now reached its historically lowest price. You can get the 55″ model for 11,182 CZK at the Softcom e-shop, whereas it cost 19,990 CZK when it was launched last May.

Mini-LED with 5000:1 Contrast

The main draw of the Hisense 55U7Q is its Mini-LED backlighting, which, thanks to smaller diodes, allows for more precise brightness control in individual screen zones. The manufacturer states a contrast ratio of 5000:1, a value that approaches more expensive models. In combination with QLED technology, the TV should offer rich colors with a wide color gamut.

The panel features 4K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, supporting all common HDR formats, including Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive. Both technologies can automatically adjust the image to the ambient room lighting. Viewing angles reach a standard 178 degrees.

Solid Gaming Features

PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X console gamers will appreciate the four HDMI 2.1 ports, two of which support VRR at 144 Hz. The gaming mode promises a response time of just 7 ms at 4K and 120 frames per second, which is a competitive value. It also includes AMD FreeSync Premium support to eliminate screen tearing and a gaming bar for quick parameter adjustments.

The audio features are also worth mentioning. The TV integrates a 2.1 channel system with a total output of 40 W, including a built-in subwoofer. It supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual X, so it can handle basic surround sound even without an external soundbar.

Who is this TV suitable for?

The Hisense 55U7Q represents a reasonable compromise for those who want Mini-LED technology without having to invest in premium models costing 20,000 CZK or more. It will be particularly appreciated by console gamers due to its 144Hz panel and low response time, as well as regular viewers of movies and series who will benefit from Dolby Vision support.

Conversely, I would not recommend this TV to those who primarily watch content in dark rooms and expect the perfect black levels of OLED panels. While Mini-LED offers better contrast than standard LED TVs, it cannot compete with OLED in this regard. Also, the energy class G for HDR content suggests higher power consumption.

The TV runs on the VIDAA operating system with direct access to apps like Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, or Oneplay. It also supports AirPlay 2 for streaming from Apple devices and voice control in Czech.
