Samsung has significantly reduced the price of its last year’s model QE65Q8F, which is now selling on Alza for 16,792 CZK. When it was launched in April last year, it cost 29,990 CZK, so the saving is over 13 thousand crowns.

Quantum Dot for Faithful Colors

At the heart of the TV is a 65-inch QLED panel with 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixels). Quantum Dot technology ensures 100% color volume according to the DCI-P3 standard, which in practice means vibrant and richly colored scenes even at various brightness levels. The panel features PANTONE certification for accurate expression of 2,140 colors and 110 skin tones.

Image enhancement is handled by the Q4 AI processor, which analyzes scenes and adjusts color rendition in real-time. The 4K Upscaling feature can then enhance content in lower resolution to approximate 4K quality. The TV supports HDR10+ and features local dimming for better contrast between bright and dark parts of the image.

Smart Home from One Place

The Samsung QE65Q8F runs on the Tizen operating system with One UI overlay, which offers access to streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, or Oneplay. The manufacturer promises 7 years of software updates, which is an above-standard level of support in the TV category.

The integrated SmartThings Hub allows you to control compatible smart devices directly from the TV. Matter and HCA protocols are supported, so lighting, thermostats, or security cameras from various manufacturers can be connected. The voice assistant Bixby can handle several commands at once and responds to context.

The SolarCell remote control charges with light thanks to a solar panel on the back, eliminating the need for battery replacement. The TV can also be controlled via the SmartThings app on a phone or using gestures on a Galaxy Watch.

Seven years of software support will then ensure that the TV does not become outdated in terms of features.

On the other hand, more demanding gamers should look elsewhere. The panel’s refresh rate is only 50/60 Hz, which is insufficient for gaming on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X consoles – these require 120 Hz for a smooth picture. HDMI 2.1 ports are also missing. Anyone looking for the absolute best contrast and perfect black should consider OLED or Mini LED models, which, however, cost significantly more.
