Large OLED TVs are often an expensive affair, but sometimes there comes a moment when even the largest models become more accessible. This is exactly what is currently happening with the 83″ LG OLED83B56 TV, which keeps getting cheaper and its price is falling to increasingly attractive levels. Just last month it was selling for 59,990 CZK, now you can get it on Alza for 53,993 CZK with code ALZADNY25. When it was launched, the manufacturer asked for over 100,000 for it.

Huge OLED panel with perfect black

The main draw of the LG OLED83B56 is, of course, the 83″ OLED panel with 4K Ultra HD resolution itself. OLED technology means that each pixel lights up independently, allowing the TV to achieve perfect black without any backlight bleed. LG stands by this claim with UL’s Perfect Black certification, which confirms accurate black reproduction even in various lighting conditions.

The panel offers 100% color volume and 100% color fidelity, values verified by Intertek. In practice, this means accurate and vibrant colors whether you’re watching in a darkened room or in daylight. The refresh rate is 120 Hz, which is sufficient for both movie content and gaming.

Alpha 8 AI Gen2 processor and smart features

Image processing is handled by the alpha 8 AI Gen2 processor, which recognizes content by genre and adjusts image settings accordingly. It includes AI Super Upscaling for improving the resolution of lower-quality content and OLED Dynamic Tone Mapping for optimizing brightness and contrast in every frame.

The TV runs on the WebOS system with a guarantee of four major updates over five years, which has been standard for LG since 2022. Access to streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, and Oneplay is included. The package includes the Magic Remote controller, which functions as an air mouse and supports voice commands. LG has also integrated a number of AI features into the TV, including AI Voice ID for recognizing users by voice, AI Search, and AI Chatbot for troubleshooting directly from the screen.

Solid gaming features

Gamers will appreciate support for NVIDIA G-SYNC, AMD FreeSync Premium, and automatic low latency mode ALLM. The TV features four HDMI ports (including eARC) and VRR technology to eliminate screen tearing. The response time certified by Intertek reaches 0.1 ms, a value typical for LG OLED panels.

Movie enthusiasts will be pleased with FILMMAKER MODE with ambient light compensation and support for HDR10 Pro, HLG Pro, and Dolby Vision formats. Sound is handled by 20W speakers with a virtual 9.1.2 channel surround system and Dolby Atmos support.

What users say in reviews

On Alza, the LG OLED83B56 holds a rating of 5.0 out of 5 stars from 23 customers, with 100% of them recommending the TV. On LG’s global websites, the B5 series model has an average of 4.8 out of 5 stars from nearly 2,800 reviews. Customers most often praise the picture quality, perfect black color, and the responsiveness of the WebOS system. They also repeatedly mention the thin bezels, low weight, and easy wall mounting.

The most frequently mentioned disadvantage is the average built-in sound, which most users solve by connecting a soundbar. Several reviewers also note that in extremely bright rooms, the brightness of the OLED panel may be slightly lower compared to LED/QLED TVs, but in normally lit spaces, they rate the brightness as sufficient.

Who it’s for and who it’s not for

The LG OLED83B56 is an ideal choice for those looking for a large OLED screen at a reasonable price. At its current price under 54,000 CZK, it is one of the most affordable ways to experience 83″ OLED on the Czech market. The TV will suit movie enthusiasts, gamers, and regular users who want to transform their living room into a home cinema.
