This is reportedly the Oura Ring 5. It is said to get larger sensors with more accurate measurements Home News Android Headlines server published exclusive renders of the Oura Ring 5 smart ring more than a year before its expected launch The ring will offer a more rounded design in six color variants, including the new Deep Rose color Optical sensors are significantly larger and promise more accurate heart rate and SpO2 measurements Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 23. 3. 2026 23:30 Advertisement Smart rings have experienced significant growth in recent years, and Oura is one of the most prominent players in this market. While the Oura Ring 4 model only went on sale in October 2024 with a price of 349 dollars, the Android Headlines server now comes with an exclusive leak revealing the appearance and specifications of its successor. The Oura Ring 5 is expected to appear on the market as late as the end of 2027, which is approximately a year and three quarters from today. More Rounded Design for Lower Scratch Risk Six Color Variants Including the New Deep Rose Larger Sensors for More Accurate Measurements Charging and Battery Life Remain Unchanged Launch in Over a Year More Rounded Design for Lower Scratch Risk According to leaked renders, Oura is making only minor design adjustments for the fifth generation. The outer half of the ring is more rounded than its predecessor, creating a smoother transition to the synthetic cover on the inside. The result is a look that more closely resembles a classic ring. A practical consequence of this design decision should be a lower risk of scratching smartphone or tablet displays. The sharper edges of some smart rings indeed cause problems for users when regularly using touch devices. Six Color Variants Including the New Deep Rose The Oura Ring 5 will be available in six different finishes. The glossy variants black, silver, and gold remain in the offering, joined by matte black (likely under the name Stealth) and brushed silver. An interesting change is the replacement of the current Rose Gold color with a new Deep Rose variant (pictured in the previous chapter). This is intended to appear more bronze-pink than gold, which could appeal to users preferring a more subtle color scheme. Larger Sensors for More Accurate Measurements The biggest changes are happening beneath the surface. According to leaked images, the optical sensors on the inside of the ring are significantly larger than those on the Ring 4 model. Oura is also adjusting their placement and adding more red and green LED diodes. These adjustments should lead to more accurate heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) measurements. Whether the Oura Ring 5 will also offer entirely new types of sensors is not yet known. However, the company previously filed a patent for continuous blood pressure measurement technology, so this feature could be one of the main attractions of the new generation. Charging and Battery Life Remain Unchanged The leak indicates that Oura will retain the existing charging system. Both a bulkier home charger and a compact charging case suitable for travel will be available. The design of both accessories remains practically unchanged. As for battery life, it should remain at a comparable level to the Ring 4, i.e., approximately 5 to 8 days on a single charge. Oura is clearly focusing more on improving health monitoring than on extending battery life. Launch in Over a Year Oura does not release new generations of its rings every year – typically 3 to 4 years pass between individual models. The Ring 4 arrived in October 2024, so the launch of the Ring 5 at the end of 2027 corresponds to this cycle. Given such a distant deadline, the leaked information should be taken with a grain of salt. The final appearance and specifications may still change. Nevertheless, it offers an interesting insight into the direction of one of the most successful smart ring manufacturers on the market. Do you wear a smart ring, or do you prefer a classic watch?
