Alza, as part of Black Friday, discounted the XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16G to 14,999 CZK. It is currently the cheapest RX 9070 XT on our market – in spring it was sold for 19,999 CZK. With the current price drop for both AMD and Nvidia, this is an offer that makes sense especially where performance per crown plays a role: in many games, the RX 9070 XT catches up to the RTX 5070 Ti, or even surpasses it, while being noticeably cheaper.

Why the RX 9070 XT makes sense right now

The AMD RDNA 4 architecture delivers balanced performance for 1440p/4K in the higher tier, with 16 GB VRAM, which is becoming increasingly useful in new games. The XFX model also relies on proven cooling and refined acoustics – in practice, the card can be easily undervolted with minimal performance loss and a noticeable drop in temperatures/noise. If you are building a gaming PC with processors like the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and aiming for high FPS in 1440p with occasional 4K, this edition of the RX 9070 XT makes very good sense at its current price.

Key parameters at a glance

  • GPU/architecture: AMD RDNA 4, 64 CU, RT/AI accelerators
  • Clock: up to 2,970 MHz Boost (typically ~2,400 MHz Game)
  • Memory: 16 GB GDDR6, 256-bit bus, up to 640 GB/s throughput
  • Image enhancement: FSR 4 (upscaling + frame gen), HYPR-RX (one-click performance/latency optimization)
  • Video/stream: AV1 encode/decode, AMD Radiance Display Engine
  • Connectors: DisplayPort 2.1a, HDMI 2.1b
  • Power: 2× 8-pin, recommended PSU ~800 W
  • XFX Cooling: triple fan, 6mm heatpipes, nickel-plated copper base

In gaming, the RX 9070 XT primarily targets 1440p/144 Hz with a very decent margin, while in 4K, a combination of “High” presets and upscaling (FSR 4) is often sufficient. Creators will appreciate AV1 (stream/encode) and solid acceleration in common applications (DaVinci Resolve, Adobe CC, etc.).

What to expect

Ray tracing and ecosystem: if you frequently use DLSS and appreciate the extensive support for NVIDIA Reflex in games, the RTX 5070 Ti still leads with its features. Conversely, if you prefer pure rasterization performance and price, the RX 9070 XT on sale comes out better.

Power consumption and dimensions: the card is larger and has higher power draw (~300 W), but XFX cooling is refined, and undervolting can pleasantly reduce both power consumption and noise without significant FPS loss.

Upscaling in practice: FSR 4 has good quality and broad coverage across engines, but in some games, you will still encounter better DLSS implementation. If you primarily play e-sports and AAA titles without heavy RT, the difference will rarely be noticeable.

Conclusion: when performance per crown is key

At 14,999 CZK, this is the cheapest RX 9070 XT on the market and a very rational choice for 1440p/144 Hz and entry into 4K. Compared to the more expensive RTX 5070 Ti, the XFX Swift RX 9070 XT offers a better price with comparable (often higher) rasterization performance and modern features (16 GB, AV1, FSR 4, HYPR-RX). If you don’t insist on top-tier RT and DLSS, this Black Friday deal makes sense.

Would you go for AMD at this price this year, or would you pay extra for an RTX 5070 Ti?
