This Redmi will bring top-tier performance with a flagship chip and an active fan. What do we know about it? Home News Xiaomi will unveil the Redmi K90 Max in China, featuring an active fan integrated directly into the phone's body. Unlike last year's K90 Pro Max with a Bose speaker on the back, the new model primarily targets gamers. The phone is powered by the Dimensity 9500 chipset, complemented by a D2 graphics chip and a 165Hz display. It later arrived on our market as the POCO F8 Ultra. Now, the brand has announced another addition to the K90 series, but this time with different priorities. While the Pro Max enticed with a premium audio experience and versatile camera equipment, the upcoming Redmi K90 Max will focus on maximum gaming performance thanks to active cooling. The new model will arrive on the Chinese market later this month. Large Fan Instead of Subwoofer Different Chipset, Faster Display Fewer Cameras, More Focus A Gaming Tablet Will Arrive Alongside It Large Fan Instead of Subwoofer Undoubtedly, the most striking feature of the Redmi K90 Max is the integrated active fan with a diameter of 18.1 mm. This replaces the space occupied by the dedicated BOSE-tuned subwoofer in the Pro Max model. Xiaomi claims that the fan achieves an airflow of 0.42 cfm (0.7 m3/h), which is said to be 30% more than competing solutions. At its lowest of three speeds, it is expected to produce a noise level of just 32 dB. The fan’s exhaust is located alongside the cameras on a slightly raised rectangular module, which design-wise resembles the arrangement on the K90 Pro Max. According to Xiaomi, the cooling system can reduce the temperature by 10 °C in just 100 seconds at maximum RPM. Interestingly, despite active cooling, the phone will offer IP66/68/69 certification for dust and water resistance. Different Chipset, Faster Display While the K90 Pro Max relies on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the K90 Max will opt for MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset. Both models, however, share an independent graphics chip, the D2, which is intended to improve gaming performance and responsiveness. The base configuration of the K90 Max is reportedly offering 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. This Redmi will bring top-tier performance with a flagship chip and an active fan. What do we know about it? Adam Kurfürst News Adam Kurfürst News The new model’s display comes with a 165 Hz refresh rate, which represents a significant leap compared to the 120Hz panel on the Pro Max. For gamers, this is a substantial difference that will be particularly appreciated when playing action titles or competitive games. Fewer Cameras, More Focus One of the compromises of the K90 Max is its dual rear camera setup. The Pro Max model, however, offered a trio of sensors, including a 5× telephoto lens, which appeared on a Redmi device for the very first time. It is not yet clear from official materials exactly which sensors the K90 Max will receive, but the phone’s gaming focus suggests that cameras will not be the main draw. Xiaomi showcased the phone’s design in the Space Silver color variant with an aluminum frame and a relatively thin profile. The camera module’s protrusion appears comparable to that of the K90 Pro Max. A Gaming Tablet Will Arrive Alongside It Xiaomi confirmed that it will also introduce the Redmi K Pad 2 alongside the K90 Max. The tablet will feature an 8.8″ display with a 165Hz refresh rate and, like the phone, will be powered by the Dimensity 9500 chipset. Whether the K90 Max will ever make it to global markets is not yet clear. Theoretically, similar to the K90 Pro Max model, it could appear under the POCO brand, but currently, there is no concrete evidence of this.
