This series will be a hit! Xiaomi introduced the new Redmi Note 15 with huge batteries Home News Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 15 series with three models in China All phones received significantly larger battery capacity Redmi Note 15 Pro+ comes with the latest Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 21. 8. 2025 12:30 Advertisement Xiaomi has officially unveiled the new generation of its most popular smartphone series, the Redmi Note 15. A trio of models debuted in China – the basic Redmi Note 15, the enhanced Redmi Note 15 Pro, and the top-of-the-line Redmi Note 15 Pro+. All new models bring significant upgrades in battery life, processors, and durability compared to last year’s Note 14 generation. Redmi Note 15: Base Model with 5,800mAh Battery The successor to last year’s Redmi Note 14 5G received the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, manufactured with 4nm technology, which replaces the Dimensity 7025-Ultra. The phone features a 6.77-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2392 × 1080 pixels and a peak brightness of 3200 nits. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and high-frequency PWM dimming for eye protection. The biggest change is the battery – capacity increased from 5,110mAh to 5,800mAh thanks to Xiaomi Jinshajiang technology with an energy density of 819 Wh/l. The phone supports 45W wired charging and, new this year, 18W reverse charging for powering accessories. The manufacturer guarantees 80% battery capacity retention after five years of use. The camera setup includes a 50Mpx Light Hunter 400 main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2Mpx depth sensor. The front camera has an 8Mpx resolution. There is no ultrawide sensor at all. Compared to its predecessor with IP64 certification, the new model received improved IP66 dust and splash resistance. The phone measures 7.35 mm in thickness and weighs 178 grams. Redmi Note 15 Pro: Seven-Thousand mAh Battery and Dragon Crystal Glass The Pro model brings even more significant improvements. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Ultra chipset with a clock speed of up to 2.6 GHz, which is an overclocked version of the Dimensity 7300-Ultra from last year’s model. The new device also received a larger vapor chamber for better heat dissipation. The display grew to 6.83 inches with 1.5K resolution (2772 × 1280 pixels) and a maximum brightness of 3,200 nits. The panel is protected by the new Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass, which, thanks to high-temperature crystallization, offers 28% higher hardness and 41% better fracture toughness than ordinary glass. The phone passed SGS tests for drop resistance from 2 meters onto granite. The real revolution is the 7000mAh battery – a massive 27% increase compared to the 5500mAh in the Note 14 Pro. The energy density reaches 835 Wh/l, and the phone supports 45W charging plus 22.5W reverse charging. The new model received IP68 certification with resistance up to 2 meters for 24 hours, confirmed by TÜV Süd testing. The main 50Mpx camera uses a Sony LYT-600 sensor with an f/1.5 aperture and optical image stabilization. It is complemented by an 8Mpx ultrawide lens and a 20Mpx front camera. The phone has a thickness of 7.78 mm and a weight of 210.6 grams. Redmi Note 15 Pro+: Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and Satellite Communication The top-of-the-line model in the series is the first phone on the market to receive the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, which replaces last year’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. The new processor offers a 7% improvement in both CPU and GPU performance. The phone shares the same 6.83-inch display and 7,000mAh battery with the Pro model, but charging power has increased to 90 W. The camera setup is the most advanced in the series – the main 50Mpx OV Light Hunter 800 module is complemented by a 50Mpx portrait telephoto lens with 2.5× optical zoom (60mm focal length) and an 8Mpx ultrawide sensor. The front camera has a resolution of 20 Mpx. Xiaomi also prepared a special Satellite Messaging Edition, which is the first in the history of the Redmi series to support satellite communication for emergency situations. All Pro models have received IP68 and IP69K certifications for maximum water and dust resistance. Comparison with the Previous Generation The biggest changes concern battery capacities – for the base model, it increased from 5,110mAh to 5,800mAh, for the Pro version even from 5,500mAh to 7,000mAh, and for the Pro+ from 6,200mAh also to 7,000mAh (comparing with the Chinese versions of predecessors). All models also received improved durability – the base model has IP66 instead of IP64, and Pro models gained IP68 and IP69K certifications. Processors have been upgraded across the entire series – the base model switched from Dimensity 7025-Ultra to Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, the Pro received Dimensity 7400-Ultra instead of 7300-Ultra, and the Pro+ got the new Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 instead of 7s Gen 3. The displays of the Pro models grew from 6.67 to 6.83 inches while maintaining high brightness. Pricing and Availability The Redmi Note 15 starts at 1,299 yuan (approx. 3,800 CZK) for the 6/128GB version and is available in black, white, and blue. The Redmi Note 15 Pro starts at 1,499 yuan (4,400 CZK) for the 8/256GB variant in black, white, blue, and purple. The top-tier Redmi Note 15 Pro+ costs from 1,999 yuan (5,900 CZK) for the 12/256GB, while the satellite edition will cost 2,499 yuan (7,400 CZK). The phones are currently only available in China. Global launch, including the Czech market, is expected during the first quarter of 2025, likely with modified specifications – European versions of Redmi Note traditionally receive lower battery capacity and sometimes different camera setups.
