Xiaomi is expanding its smart home offering in the Czech Republic with the Smart Temperature and Humidity Monitor 3 Mini. This compact temperature and humidity sensor, previously available only in foreign markets, is now officially sold here for a price of 230 CZK. The device is particularly appealing due to its battery life of up to 3 years and the possibility of connecting to the Xiaomi Home ecosystem.

Larger Display in a Compact Body

The new sensor measures 53 × 45.3 × 13 mm and features a 2.1-inch LCD display with a diagonal of 42.8 × 35.1 mm. Compared to the previous generation Mi Temperature and Humidity Monitor 2, the screen diagonal has increased from 1.5 to 2.1 inches, while the bezel has thinned from 7.5 to just 5.1 mm. This makes temperature and humidity values more readable even from a greater distance.

The built-in digital sensor can record temperature changes with an accuracy of 0.1 °C and humidity with a resolution of 1% RH. The display updates measured values every 6 seconds, allowing real-time monitoring of environmental changes. The device measures temperature in the range of 0-60 °C and humidity from 0-99% RH.

Battery Life Up to 3 Years

The monitor is powered by a CR2450 button cell battery, which lasts up to 2 years in standard mode. After activating power-saving mode in the Xiaomi Home app, the battery life extends to 3 years, with only the speed of automatic updates being slowed down. An icon indicating active power-saving mode will then appear in the upper right corner of the display.

Smart Features with Bluetooth Mesh Gateway

After connecting to the Xiaomi Home app and a Bluetooth Mesh gateway, the sensor gains advanced features. You can set up automations to turn on a fan when a set temperature is exceeded or activate a humidifier when humidity drops below a certain value. The gateway also allows remote monitoring of values from anywhere.

The device stores measurement history for up to 3 months locally and 6 months in the cloud. In standard mode, it sends data to the gateway every 1-5 minutes; in power-saving mode, every 3-13 minutes. In the app, you can then view graphs of temperature and humidity trends to analyze conditions in your home.

Flexible Placement and Design

The monitor can be placed on the included stand or attached to a wall using double-sided adhesive tape. Thanks to its compact dimensions and low weight, it is suitable for bedrooms, living rooms, studies, or offices. You can also carry it in your pocket or bag to monitor conditions on the go.

In addition to numerical values, the display shows cute emoticons that instantly convey the comfort level of the environment. The monitor’s body is made of ABS plastic, which is safe, environmentally friendly, and durable. Ventilation holes on the back ensure a faster response of the sensor to environmental changes.
