The fifty-five-inch Samsung QE55QN90F belongs to the upper-mid-range of televisions, and its usual price reflected that — starting at 39,990 CZK. However, Alza is now offering it for 19,990 CZK after entering the code CZAVWEEK10, which is half of the original price. This is an offer worth stopping for to see what you get for that money and who it makes sense for.

The television is built on Mini LED backlighting with local dimming, where, according to users, around 500 dimmable zones operate. This manifests in the depth of black and the ability to maintain detail in dark scenes without affecting bright ones. Additionally, it features a matte anti-reflective screen finish, which Alza reviewers praise most often — during the day, surrounding furniture or windows are not reflected on the panel. The trade-off for the matte surface in a completely dark room is a slightly more pronounced halo effect around bright objects, but this is a compromise most viewers won’t have a problem with.

The panel supports 4K resolution, HDR10+, and a refresh rate of 100/120 Hz, and up to 165 Hz in gaming mode. Gamers, in particular, will appreciate that the QN90F offers four HDMI 2.1 ports, VRR support, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. You can connect both a console and a gaming PC without arguing about which input can handle full performance. Sound is provided by a 60W speaker system with Dolby Atmos support, which reviewers describe as above average for casual listening — sufficient for movies, audiophiles will opt for a separate system anyway.

Tizen, AI, and a Few Compromises

The Tizen system is snappy — as practically every customer review confirms — and it includes Czech applications like Oneplay, SledováníTV, and Telly, alongside Netflix, Disney+, and HBO Max. Samsung also includes the promised 7 years of updates and the SolarCell remote, which charges with light and does not have a replaceable battery. The remote itself is often criticized: it’s small, lacks number buttons, and might be unfamiliar to older household members.

The marketing around Samsung Vision AI — generating wallpapers from keywords, monitoring a barking dog, or automatic sound adjustment — should be taken more as a bonus than a reason to buy. One reviewer aptly summarized it: they don’t need AI features and would prefer ChatGPT instead of Bixby. It’s also important to note the real consumption: the label states 76 kWh annually in SDR, but in HDR mode, it jumps to 209 kWh, and users report peaks over 200 W. Furthermore, WiFi remains only in standard 5, which is a bit disappointing for a 2025 model.

However, for 19,990 CZK, these objections lose their weight. You get a high-quality Mini LED panel with a matte display and complete gaming features for a price that even a class weaker televisions had recently. If you are looking for a main TV for your living room and don’t mind the aforementioned compromises, this is one of the more reasonable purchases in the current promotion.
