TP-Link is starting to sell the Tapo P410M outdoor smart plug in Czechia, extending home automation possibilities to gardens and terraces. It can already be purchased from some retailers at a price starting from 522 crowns. The plug combines IP54 resistance with advanced energy consumption monitoring features, including tracking production from solar panels.

Outdoor Durability for Year-Round Use

The Tapo P410M boasts IP54 protection, ensuring resistance against dust and splashing water from all directions. The plug operates in temperatures from -20 °C to +50 °C, so it can handle Czech winters and summer heat. The design includes rubber seals, a hinged protective cover, and a conformal coating on the electronics against moisture. This allows you to use the device for controlling garden lighting, fountains, irrigation systems, or Christmas decorations all year round.

Solar Panel Monitoring and Advanced Protection

The plug introduces a unique Solar Power Monitoring feature, which automatically detects current direction and allows tracking energy production from balcony solar power plants. The application calculates savings and shows when the investment in solar panels will pay off.

The plug also relies on Zero-Crossing Detection technology, which protects relays from contact welding and reportedly extends their lifespan up to tenfold compared to conventional smart plugs. The manufacturer even states that this industrial technology is appearing for the first time in a product designed for ordinary consumers.

Safety Features and Matter Support

The Tapo P410M includes a child safety lock to prevent objects from being inserted into the socket and nickel-plated phosphor bronze contacts for optimal conductivity. Overload protection automatically cuts off power when exceeding 2500 W, and overheating protection works similarly. Thanks to Matter certification, the plug works with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings. You can control it with voice commands, the Tapo mobile app, or a set schedule. The Away Mode feature randomly turns connected devices on and off to simulate presence.

Price and Availability

The TP-Link Tapo P410M is starting to appear in Czech e-shops with a price starting from 522 CZK. While it is already in stock at some retailers, wider availability is expected in the coming weeks. For this price, you get an outdoor smart plug with IP54 resistance, Matter standard support, and the ability to monitor solar production – a combination of features that competitors in this price category do not offer.
