Robot vacuum cleaners with mopping function and self-cleaning stations have become a popular household item in recent years. While we’ve long heard about Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Dreame, Roborock, or Ecovacs in this segment, the networking company TP-Link is trying to make its mark through its smart home division, Tapo. The latest addition is the Tapo RV50 Pro Omni, which combines high suction power with fully automated maintenance. It launches on the Czech market at a price of 11,992 CZK.

A station that takes care of itself

The main draw of the Tapo RV50 Pro Omni is its All-in-One docking station. After each cleaning, it automatically empties dust from the robot into a 3L bag, which, according to the manufacturer, lasts up to 60 days. The station washes the mopping pads with hot water at 60 °C and then dries them with warm air at 50 °C, which is intended to prevent odors and bacteria.

It also features automatic detergent dispensing and a dirt detection system that decides whether the mops need to be washed again. The station has separate tanks for clean and dirty water, so the user doesn’t have to touch dirty water.

Vacuuming and mopping in one pass

The robot boasts suction power of up to 15,000 Pa, which should be sufficient to remove dust, fine dirt, and pet hair from hard floors and carpets. The power automatically increases when a carpet is detected. A special brush with a hair-cutting system addresses the common problem of tangling, with the actual cutting taking place in the docking station.

For mopping, TP-Link uses the DeepEdge system with an extendable arm that automatically extends towards walls and into corners. The dual rotating mops operate at 180 revolutions per minute with up to 8 N of pressure. A built-in 95ml water tank ensures even wetting.

For spatial orientation, the vacuum cleaner uses dToF navigation complemented by dual laser sensors for real-time obstacle detection. The combination of front and side lasers aims to minimize collisions with furniture. The robot supports mapping up to four floors, defining no-go zones, and virtual walls directly in the app.

An interesting feature is intelligent carpet care. When moving onto a low-pile carpet, the robot automatically lifts the mops by 12 mm, while for high-pile carpets, it completely removes them to keep them dry. Pet zones with increased suction power can also be set in the app.

Control and smart home

The vacuum cleaner is controlled via the Tapo app, which is available in Czech and Slovak for Android and iOS. It allows for cleaning scheduling, real-time movement tracking, or setting specific zones. The device supports voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant and is compatible with the Matter standard for integration into a broader smart home ecosystem.

Other notable parameters include a 5,200mAh battery, the ability to overcome obstacles up to 20 mm high, and a 280ml dustbin directly in the robot. The dimensions of the vacuum cleaner itself are 350 × 100.3 mm, while the station occupies an area of 480 × 350 × 475 mm.

Price and availability

The TP-Link Tapo RV50 Pro Omni is available on the Czech market with a recommended price of 14,999 CZK. However, it can be purchased significantly cheaper from some retailers, currently starting from 11,992 CZK.
