However, at its original recommended price of 31,499 CZK, it was more of an expensive experiment for enthusiasts. With code ALZADNY20 and a 10,000 CZK cashback, you can now get it on Alza for 13,192 CZK, which is less than half of its original price. CHCI GALAXY S25 EDGE Quick summary:✅ Worth it if you want a light and thin phone with flagship performance and main camera.⚠️ Be aware that the battery is only 3,900 mAh, charging is limited to 25 W, and there’s no telephoto lens.💡 For 13,192 CZK after cashback, you get a flagship that cost more than double at launch. How do you get from 31 thousand to 13 thousand? Alza sells the 12/256 GB version of the phone for 28,990 CZK, and with code ALZADNY20, the price drops to 23,192 CZK, a saving of 5,798 CZK. That’s what you’ll pay at purchase. The rest is covered by Samsung’s cashback: they return 10,000 CZK for this model, so after it’s paid out, the phone will cost you 13,192 CZK. For comparison, the lowest price before the promotion was 26,489 CZK, according to Alza. The conditions are simple, you just mustn’t miss the deadline. The phone needs to be purchased by October 31st and registered in the Samsung Members app by November 14th. According to the promotion rules, the money will then arrive in your account within 30 days of fulfilling all conditions. When we wrote about the price drop of the S25 Edge last December, with Czech distribution, it cost roughly 18 thousand. Now it’s almost five thousand cheaper. Thin and light, but still a flagship in terms of features The main reason to opt for the Edge is, of course, its body. Samsung states a thickness of 5.8 mm and a weight of 163 grams, while the display has a diagonal of 6.7 inches. Allison Johnson from The Verge writes in her review that it’s a large phone that feels small to carry. During testing, she reportedly repeatedly thought she had forgotten it at home because she couldn’t feel it in her pocket or handbag. It even fit into a small clutch bag, which no modern phone except the iPhone 13 mini had managed to do without a struggle until now. GSMArena shares a similar view. In the verdict of its review, it writes that Samsung didn’t aim to surpass the S25+ or Ultra with the Edge, but rather to offer an alternative to people who are tired of giant camera modules and heavy phones. In this regard, it considers the thin Galaxy a welcome refreshment. Meanwhile, less was saved on features than one might expect. Inside, a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy with 12 GB RAM is at work, the same chip as in last year’s Ultra, and the AMOLED display offers QHD+ resolution with a 120 Hz refresh rate. IP68 resistance, wireless charging, and reverse charging for headphones are also present. The camera is dominated by a 200Mpx main sensor taken from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, complemented by a 12Mpx ultrawide lens. Foreign reviewers consistently praise the main camera. For the future, it’s also pleasing that Samsung has promised seven years of system updates for the Galaxy S25 series, so you’re not buying last year’s model with a short lifespan. OBJEDNAT NA ALZE Where does the thin body take its toll? The most frequent criticism from reviewers targets the 3,900 mAh battery, which is smaller than that of the base Galaxy S25. Laboratory tests vary in numbers because each editorial team measures differently. Tom’s Guide had the phone continuously load web pages over mobile data until it ran out of battery, and the Edge lasted 12 hours and 38 minutes. The base Galaxy S25 lasted almost three hours longer in the same test, and the Ultra over 17 hours. In a similar test, PhoneArena measured 16 hours and 40 minutes, roughly two hours less than the base S25, and Notebookcheck even nearly 18 hours, calling the endurance the biggest surprise of the entire test. Allison Johnson from The Verge again describes what it looks like in a typical day. The phone lasted with her through a full day at the Google I/O conference with the always-on display enabled and highest resolution, about three hours of screen-on time, and an hour of internet sharing. By evening, she had 20% battery remaining. She therefore considers the battery life sufficient, but also warns that anyone who streams a lot of video or plays demanding games should opt for a different phone. You will need your own charger for charging, as an adapter is not included in the package, and the phone only charges at 25 W via cable. Notebookcheck measured that it charges to 55% in half an hour, and a full charge takes an hour and 20 minutes. Another compromise is cooling. Android Authority ran a demanding graphics test on the phone for 20 minutes straight, simulating long gaming sessions. The Edge’s performance at its worst point dropped to 45% of its maximum, while the Ultra, with better cooling, maintained 52%. GSMArena, in its performance tests, found that the processor started to slow down due to heat within the first five minutes of load. However, according to Android Authority, no slowdown is apparent during normal use, and The Verge reviewer did not notice a performance drop during twenty minutes of playing Diablo Immortal; the phone only got warm. Thus, the Edge is not ideal for longer sessions of demanding games. A telephoto lens is also missing. 2x zoom is handled by a crop from the 200Mpx sensor, and according to Allison Johnson from The Verge, it’s sufficient for such magnification. She also considers it the right choice that Samsung gave the phone a top-tier main camera instead of a telephoto lens. However, optical zoom is absent for more distant objects. Furthermore, GSMArena notes that the phone wobbles on a table due to the protruding camera island, even for a while after each touch. A case would solve this, but with it, according to The Verge, the thin phone simply becomes a phone of regular thickness. When is it better to look elsewhere? If you use your phone from morning till night, play demanding games on it, or frequently photograph distant objects, such as children on a playground or concerts, the Edge might disappoint you. In such a case, it’s worth considering the base Galaxy S25 with a telephoto lens, which Alza offers for 18,490 CZK in the same cashback promotion. It has a smaller display and a thicker body, but it can also take photos from a distance. KOUPIT S KÓDEM ALZADNY20 For 13 thousand, more of a hit than a compromise At full price, the Galaxy S25 Edge was hard to justify, and GSMArena even criticized its high launch price as a weakness. However, for 13,192 CZK after cashback, the equation changes. It will be appreciated mainly by those who want a premium phone for their jacket pocket or handbag that they barely feel, primarily uses the main camera, and charges their phone every evening anyway. Flagship performance, display, and camera are hard to find at this price point today, let alone in such a thin body.
