This year, Vodafone decided to go against the Black Friday frenzy and instead of promotions with a limited number of items, it offers a 40% discount on its tariffs for the entire month of October. The most interesting is the Neomezený Super+ tariff with a speed of 20 Mb/s, which drops from the original 997 CZK to 599 CZK per month. And what’s important – the promotion applies to both new and existing customers, which is quite rare among mobile operators.

What does Vodafone offer?

In October, Vodafone is discounting two of its unlimited tariffs. Neomezený Super+ with a speed of 20 Mb/s costs only 599 CZK per month instead of 997 CZK – a 40% discount. The cheaper option, Neomezený Super with a speed of 10 Mb/s, will cost 549 CZK instead of the original 871 CZK, which represents a 37% discount.

Both offers are data unlimited, so you don’t have to monitor how much data you consume. The only difference is in the maximum connection speed.

Is 20 Mb/s speed enough?

Vodafone claims that 20 Mb/s is enough for high-definition video streaming and online gaming. Is that true? For Full HD streaming on Netflix or YouTube, it’s more than enough – you only need 5–8 Mb/s. However, for 4K video, 20 Mb/s is borderline, and you might occasionally have to wait for buffering.

As for downloading, 20 Mb/s means approximately 2.5 MB/s real speed. A 5 GB movie will download in 35 minutes. For everyday use – social media, Spotify, YouTube – it’s more than enough. However, if you download large files frequently, it might feel slow.

Is it worth it?

Let’s be frank: the original price of 997 CZK for a tariff with limited speed is inflated. Competitors offer full 5G speed for a similar or even lower price. So when Vodafone says “40% discount,” in reality, they are just lowering an exorbitant price to a reasonable level.

And one more thing – the promotion is valid for the entire month of October, so you don’t have to rush. You have a month to think it over, which is exactly what Vodafone promises – no stress, no time limits, no waiting for Black Friday. And that’s actually something Vodafone deserves praise for – not going down the path of artificial scarcity and pressure for immediate decisions.

Are you considering switching to Vodafone because of this promotion? Or do you find 20 Mb/s too slow?
