A large image for an occasional movie night doesn’t have to mean an expensive projector. The Vankyo Sunspark 500W Android costs 2,443 CZK with code ALZADNY30 on Alza. For this amount, you get a projector with Android and its own speakers, but with brightness designed for a darkened room. It makes sense primarily as an undemanding home projection.

Large diagonal, limited details

The main compromise is the native resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels. We would not recommend this model for projecting small text or detailed tables. The diagonal can reach up to 100 inches: a large image here mainly means a larger area, not fine detail.

The brightness is 110 ANSI lm, and the seller classifies the projector for darkened spaces. So, count on drawing the curtains, not projecting in a sunlit living room. For placement, it states a projection distance of 1.2 to 2.3 meters. Before purchasing, it’s worth checking if you have space within this range against a free wall or screen.

Phone via Miracast, laptop via HDMI

To display photos from a compatible phone, you can use Miracast; connect a laptop via HDMI. The projector also has its own speakers and a headphone output, offering both standalone audio playback and the option for wired listening via headphones.

The question remains about the support for specific streaming applications. Android in the name itself is not a confirmation that your favorite service will run on the projector; its compatibility needs to be assessed separately.

For wired laptop connection, an HDMI cable is already included in the package, as well as a remote control and a power cable. The power supply is mains, so even when occasionally moving the projector, account for a spot near an outlet.
