Chinese manufacturer Vivo has confirmed that it will participate in the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona for the very first time this year. And it won’t come empty-handed – the main star of its booth will be the Vivo X300 Ultra, a camera phone from a series that has so far remained exclusive to the Chinese market. For European mobile photography enthusiasts, this is crucial news, as Vivo’s Ultra models are among the absolute best in the field.

First Time in Europe

MWC 2026 will take place from March 2nd to 5th, and Vivo intends to significantly raise its profile there. While Ultra models have so far remained exclusive to the domestic market, this year the strategy is changing. The new X300 Ultra is referred to in the press release as “a new flagship for Europe,” which could theoretically mean that it will appear on the shelves of domestic stores after its introduction.

In addition to the Ultra model, Vivo will also showcase the rest of the X300 series in Barcelona, including the base model and the Pro version, the foldable Vivo X Fold5, and the new V70 series. Visitors will, of course, be able to experience all the new products firsthand.

What We Know About Vivo X300 Ultra

Vivo has not yet released official specifications, but leaks from recent weeks paint a fairly clear picture. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is expected to tick, the same chipset as in competing flagships. The already available Pro version, meanwhile, relies on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500. As for the display, it should have a diagonal of 6.82 inches with 2K resolution and LTPO technology from BOE.

However, the cameras are attracting the most attention. The main sensor is reportedly set to use a 200Mpx Sony LYT-901 sensor with a size of 1/1.12 inches and an unusual focal length of 35 mm. This is a significantly narrower field of view than the usual 23–24 mm on most smartphones, which should provide a more natural perspective without distortion at the edges. The ultrawide, with a 50Mpx sensor of 1/1.28 inches, should then offer a classic wide-angle mode.

The telephoto lens is also expected to be 200Mpx, and according to some sources, the phone could support a unique external teleconverter for even longer focal lengths. The setup is also said to include a 5Mpx multispectral sensor for more accurate color reproduction. The collaboration with ZEISS should continue with this model as well.

As for the battery, a capacity of 6,500 to 7,000 mAh with support for 100W wired charging is rumored. If these figures are confirmed, it would be one of the highest capacities among flagship phones ever.

Competition Doesn’t Sleep: Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

The Vivo X300 Ultra enters the market facing strong competition. Yesterday at MWC, Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 17 Ultra with the brand’s first 1-inch LOFIC sensor and a unique mechanical telephoto lens with variable zoom 75–100 mm. The model is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, has a 6,000 mAh battery with 90W charging, and starts at 35,999 Kč in the Czech Republic.

Samsung then unveiled the Galaxy S26 Ultra on Wednesday, featuring an improved 200Mpx main sensor with an f/1.4 aperture, which is said to be 47% brighter than its predecessor. The phone also impresses with its unique Privacy Display feature for privacy protection and 60W charging – finally faster than the previous 45W. The battery remains at 5,000 mAh, and Czech prices start at 35,699 Kč.

The Vivo X300 Ultra thus faces a challenging task. On paper, the photographic equipment looks very promising, but only practical use will reveal the true quality of the images. The price also remains a question – if Vivo adopts an aggressive pricing policy, it could become an interesting alternative for those who are not satisfied with Samsung or Xiaomi.

Are you interested in the Vivo X300 Ultra? Would you get it instead of a Xiaomi or Samsung?
