If you’ve been considering a powerful laptop for content creation or gaming in recent months, but were put off by the price, we have good news. The ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED in a configuration with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor and RTX 4050 graphics is now available for a fraction of its original price. From the former 45,490 CZK, the price has dropped to 33,637 CZK, representing a saving of over 11,800 CZK.

OLED display that will delight creators and movie enthusiasts

The main attraction of this machine is undoubtedly the 15.6-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2880 × 1620 pixels. Thanks to OLED technology, it offers perfect black color that LCD panels cannot reproduce, and 100% DCI-P3 color space coverage. For graphic designers and video editors, the PANTONE Validated certification is crucial, guaranteeing accurate color reproduction straight from the factory.

A refresh rate of 120 Hz combined with a response time of just 0.2 ms ensures smooth visuals for both video work and gaming. The maximum brightness reaches 500 nits in HDR mode, with the display featuring VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification. Eye protection in the form of blue light reduction with TÜV Rheinland certification is also present.

Performance for demanding tasks and modern AI

Under the hood, a 16-core Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor operates with a maximum frequency of up to 5.4 GHz. Unlike conventional processors, it includes an NPU unit (Neural Processing Unit) with up to 13 TOPS of performance, which accelerates artificial intelligence tasks directly on the device. This is useful, for example, when working with AI tools in Adobe applications or running language models locally.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card with 6 GB VRAM offers support for ray tracing and DLSS 3.0 technology, which can significantly increase frame rates in games. Thanks to the MUX Switch, you can switch between hybrid mode for power saving and dedicated GPU mode for maximum gaming performance. ASUS states a total TDP of the CPU and GPU combination up to 125 W in full-speed mode.

Memory and storage without compromise

The tested configuration features 24 GB of DDR5 RAM, with 8 GB soldered to the board and another 16 GB replaceable in the SO-DIMM slot. Storage is handled by a 2TB SSD with a PCIe 4.0 interface, ensuring fast loading of the system and applications. A second M.2 slot is also available for potential expansion.

Connectivity and practical features

ASUS did not skimp on ports. The laptop offers Thunderbolt 4 with 40 Gb/s speed, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with Power Delivery support, two classic USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and an SD card reader. Network connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi 6E and gigabit Ethernet via RJ45.

Worth mentioning is the 5Mpx webcam with an infrared sensor for unlocking via Windows Hello and a physical privacy shutter. The keyboard is backlit, includes a numeric keypad, and a special DialPad on the touchpad – a virtual rotary controller for quick parameter adjustments in creative applications.

Battery and cooling

The 75 Wh battery, according to the manufacturer, can handle a full day’s work, although battery life will naturally be shorter during more demanding tasks with the dedicated graphics. It supports fast charging – reaching 50% in approximately 30 minutes. Cooling is handled by the IceCool Pro system with two fans and five copper heat pipes, which keeps components at operating temperatures even under full load.

Who is this laptop suitable for?

The ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED primarily targets content creators – video editors, graphic designers, and photographers who will appreciate the accurate colors of the OLED display and sufficient performance for working in Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or Photoshop. Thanks to the RTX 4050 and MUX Switch, gamers of moderately demanding titles who prefer quality visuals over maximum resolution will also find it appealing.

Conversely, if you are looking for an ultrathin travel machine, the weight of 1.8 kg and dimensions corresponding to a 15.6″ laptop might not be suitable. For hardcore gaming with titles at maximum details, it would be more appropriate to opt for machines with RTX 4070 or 4080. And if you only need a laptop for office work and web browsing, this configuration is unnecessarily over-specified.

Price and availability

The ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED N6506CU-OLED013X is currently selling from 33,637 CZK. On Alza, it is currently available on sale for 35,990 CZK. Given the original price of over 45,000, this is an interesting opportunity for those who want a powerful workstation with a high-quality display at a reasonable price.
