Well-equipped watch at an attractive price? Xiaomi unveiled Redmi Watch 6 for the first time

Chinese Xiaomi has showcased the new Redmi Watch 6 smartwatch for the first time via the Weibo social network. It will be officially unveiled next Thursday, October 23rd, alongside the anticipated flagship phone Redmi K90 Pro Max. The first official renders show an improved design with a relocated crown and a new control button.

Improved design retains proven elements

The Redmi Watch 6 retains the square design of its predecessor but introduces several design improvements. The control crown has moved to the upper part of the right side, while a brand new functional button has been added to the lower part. The watch will be available in three color variants – Misty Blue with a silver body and light blue strap, Moonlight Silver with a silver construction and white strap, and Elegant Black, which will be entirely black. All variants utilize high-strength aluminum, combining durability with low weight.

Larger display and longer battery life than its predecessor

The watch is equipped with a 2.07-inch AMOLED display with extremely narrow 2mm bezels on all four sides. Compared to its predecessor with HyperOS 2.0, the new watch receives the current HyperOS 3, which brings an improved user interface and support for third-party applications. Xiaomi also highlights the Always-On Display, although the previous model also offered it. Battery life on paper also remains the same – according to the manufacturer, the Redmi Watch 6 will be able to operate for up to 24 days on a single charge.

Main improvements over Redmi Watch 5

So far, we know that compared to last year’s Redmi Watch 5, the watch will arrive with these two main improvements:

• Second physical button for faster function control
• HyperOS 3 instead of the older version 2.0

Redmi Watch 5 arrived in the Czech Republic with a price of 2,599 CZK, and therefore it can be assumed that the upcoming model will also be available here for a similar amount. However, we still have to wait for more information about it.

Unveiling next week

The official unveiling of the Redmi Watch 6 will take place on October 23rd at 7:00 PM Chinese time (1:00 PM our time) alongside the flagship phone Redmi K90 Pro Max. During the presentation, Xiaomi will likely reveal the complete specifications, including the exact display resolution, maximum brightness, and new features for health monitoring and sports activity.
