Why buy Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G? The reason might be the complete package of AI features that work in Czech!

Last year, Xiaomi already bet on HyperAI as an umbrella under which all artificial intelligence functions are concentrated. However, the umbrella doesn’t cover everyone equally. In the Redmi Note 15 series, only the Pro+ 5G model gets the complete AI package; other models have a more limited version – and the cheapest ones lack generative AI entirely. Today, we’ll take a closer look at what the complete package includes, where its practical value lies, and most importantly, how the models differ from each other.

Three features that no other Note 15 has

I’ll start with the features that differentiate the Pro+ 5G from the entire series. AI Writing (Psaní) works system-wide – activate it in Notes, emails, in short, anywhere you write text. It can extend, shorten, rewrite, or correct text, in four different tones. It’s not a one-time gadget but a reusable tool that saves time, especially with longer texts.

AI writing works relatively well for shorter and medium-length messages, which makes sense. To edit text, simply select it, and then you can choose – the text can be general, but also professional, simple, or friendly. Besides rewriting it, you can also ask the AI for a summary, language correction, or text expansion.

AI Speech Recognition (Rozpoznání textu) is a voice recorder with speech-to-text transcription. The phone converts speech into text, recognizes individual speakers, and at the end generates a summary of the entire conversation. At a meeting, lecture, or interview – instead of taking notes, you can focus on the content. Xiaomi successfully tested this feature last year on the Xiaomi 15T, and the implementation in the Note 15 Pro+ is identical.

The third is AI Interpreter, a real-time translator between 30 languages. You speak Czech, and the phone instantly converts it into English, Japanese, Chinese – and vice versa. It’s practically useful for situations abroad. Additionally, AI Search enables contextual searching directly within the app, and AI Dynamic Wallpapers generate backgrounds for the display.

Photos: where the main difference between models lies

AI Erase Pro removes objects from photos via the cloud. Thanks to generative AI, it fills the space naturally, without visible artifacts – compared to the basic Erase, which you can find even on the cheapest Note 15 models, the difference is noticeable. Remove Reflection eliminates reflections from glass, useful for photos taken through a window. Image Expansion extends the image beyond its original boundaries so that the generated area blends seamlessly with the rest.

Sky replaces the sky, Bokeh adds artificial background blur to portraits, and Image Enhancement improves general quality with one tap. Two additional bonuses belong only to the Pro+ 5G: Cutouts can extract an object from a photo and save it as a separate element – essentially creating stickers directly on the phone. AI Film then automatically creates a short film with sound from your best shots, without manual editing. However, I honestly didn’t find this very effective in practice.

For context: Pro and Pro 5G have almost all these photo features, only lacking Cutouts. Note 15 and Note 15 5G have very few AI features in the Gallery – basic Erase (without “Pro”), Sky, Bokeh, and Beautify. Don’t look for Image Expansion, AI Film, or Image Enhancement on them.

Gemini and Circle to Search: for everyone without distinction

Google Gemini as a voice assistant and Circle to Search for visual search are not HyperAI exclusives – you get these on all Note 15 models (and all other Androids), even the cheapest ones. Circle to Search is perhaps the most used AI feature from the entire package in practice: hold the bottom bar, circle anything on the screen, and the phone searches for it. It couldn’t be simpler.

Czech yes – but internet is a necessity

Writing, speech transcription, interpretation – key HyperAI functions work in Czech. This is a specific advantage that has existed with Xiaomi since the Xiaomi 14T and applies here too. Gemini also reliably responds in Czech.

However, one condition applies to all without exception: no AI function runs locally. Without an internet connection, HyperAI goes silent – and this applies even to the most basic solutions, like Writing. In offline situations, you simply revert to the phone’s standard functions and your own mind.

How much AI you get for how many crowns

The differences are not small and are worth naming. Redmi Note 15 and Note 15 5G have no generative AI at all – no writing, transcription, or interpretation, and photo AI is only in its most basic version. Note 15 Pro and Pro 5G add Image Expansion, AI Film, and Erase Pro, but they still lack generative tools. The complete package is the privilege of one phone in the series – and that is the Pro+ 5G.

Final evaluation

HyperAI in the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G is currently the most complete AI package Xiaomi has offered in a phone under 10,000 Czech crowns. Whether you will use each of these functions regularly is another question – most likely, you’ll most often reach for the voice recorder, Circle to Search, and Erase Pro. But the package as a whole is complete, works in Czech, and Xiaomi has a visible lead over other brands here. At least for now.
