A small speaker that plays stereo and connects to home Wi-Fi now costs on Alza 3 992 Kč. That’s how much the Sonos Era 100 SL in black costs after entering the code ALZADNY20. Without the code, the price is 4 990 Kč, so the code saves 998 Kč. The speaker is in stock.

The Era 100 SL is a tabletop speaker for the home, controlled from the Sonos app for both Android and iOS. A second identical unit can later form a stereo pair, and you can group it with other Sonos speakers.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense: as a permanent home speaker for someone who streams Spotify or Apple Music via Wi-Fi and wants to gradually expand their Sonos setup.
⚠️ Consider: the speaker needs an outlet and does not have a microphone for voice control. Trueplay acoustic tuning requires a compatible iOS device; you cannot run it from Android on the SL version.
💡 The price of 3,992 CZK is valid only with code ALZADNY20. The 4.8 out of 5 rating on Alza is currently based on only 9 reviews.

Stereo without a second speaker

The Era 100 SL has inside two angled tweeters with waveguides designed to separate highs into left and right channels. A separate mid-woofer handles the bass, making it a two-way design.

On a shelf, it occupies 12 × 13.05 cm and measures 18.25 cm in height, so it fits in the kitchen or on a desk. The sound can be adapted to the room’s acoustics using Trueplay. However, this is not continuous automatic speaker recalibration.

Wi-Fi for everyday listening, Bluetooth for guests

At home, Wi-Fi will be the primary use. You can stream Spotify and Apple Music directly to the speaker, and iPhone owners can use AirPlay. When guests arrive and want to quickly play something from their phone, Bluetooth 5.3 is sufficient without logging into the home network.

For the first setup, plug the included power cable into an outlet, connect your phone to Wi-Fi, and open the Sonos app. This is also required before the first Bluetooth playback. Playback, volume, and grouping with other Sonos speakers can also be controlled by touch directly on the speaker.

An analog audio source, such as a turntable with a preamplifier, can also be connected via USB-C. For this, you need a Sonos Line-In adapter and a 3.5mm cable, which are sold separately. This input is not intended for connecting a TV.

Second unit for wider stereo, soundbar for cinema

One speaker doesn’t have to be the final setup. Two identical Era 100 SL models can be connected for wider stereo when listening to music. In a home theater, two units can serve as rear surround speakers, but they require a compatible Sonos soundbar. Thus, a standalone stereo pair will not replace a full-fledged TV setup.

At 3,992 CZK with the code, the Era 100 SL makes the most sense for someone who wants one permanently placed speaker for Wi-Fi listening and the option to buy a second one for a pair in the future. It’s not suitable for the garden or trips; it won’t play without an outlet.

Would you build your Sonos system gradually, one speaker at a time, or would you buy a pair right away?
