Personally, I don’t recall so many new items being shown at a launch, among the main ones are, of course, the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro phones. I had the opportunity to spend the last week with the latter, and in the following text, we will talk about its parameters, main new features, Czech prices, and I will not forget some first impressions. New design with a unified camera module Leica optics with five focal lengths Offline communication like in action movies MediaTek inside, which surprises no one Larger displays with higher refresh rates 5500mAh battery with fast charging HyperOS 3 with AI features Czech prices and introductory offer New design with a unified camera module As for the design, from my point of view, it has undergone a successful evolution. The camera module is now rounded and doesn’t cut into the hands as much, and the build quality of both models is very good. The Pro version gets an aluminum frame made of 6M13 alloy, which feels pleasantly cool in hand, while the base 15T makes do with plastic sides, but at first touch, I thought it was also aluminum, as the surface finish is quite similar. Dimensions have increased minimally – the Pro measures 162.7 × 77.9 × 7.96 mm and weighs 210 grams, while the base model is slightly lighter (194 g) and thinner (7.5 mm). Both phones meet IP68 certification, enduring submersion in up to 3 meters of water. Color variants include black, gray, and the Pro version gets luxurious Mocha Gold, while the base 15T entices with Rose Gold. Leica optics with five focal lengths Cameras are a clear highlight of both models. The main 50Mpx sensor in the Pro version uses the Light Fusion 900 sensor with an aperture of f/1.62, while the base model uses Light Fusion 800 with f/1.7. Both have optical stabilization, and the Leica branding is not just a sticker – the Xiaomi AISP 2.0 system with PortraitLM and ColorLM functions significantly improves image processing. The key difference is in the telephoto lens. The Pro gets a 5× periscopic telephoto lens (115mm equivalent) with up to 20× digital zoom, while the base 15T only has a 2× telephoto (46mm), which we know from last year. The ultrawide lens remains the same for both – 12Mpx with a 120° angle. The front camera has 32 Mpx. The periscope on the Pro model is truly unique. Given the price tag and the discount offer, which you can read about below, it’s a unique proposition. I don’t want to draw premature conclusions, but from first impressions, it can be judged that you will be hard-pressed to find a phone with a better telephoto lens (and thus digital zoom) in this price category. Both phones handle 4K at 60 fps with HDR10+, with the Pro version additionally offering 4K/120fps and even 8K/30fps. An interesting feature is the support for LOG format with LUT for post-production – content creators will especially appreciate this. Offline communication like in action movies A unique feature is Xiaomi Offline Communication, which enables direct voice calls between phones without mobile signal or Wi-Fi. The range is up to 1.9 km for the Pro version and 1.3 km for the base model. It will find use during hiking in the mountains or in emergency situations when the network is down. MediaTek inside, which surprises no one Xiaomi traditionally equips the T series with MediaTek chipsets, and this year is no exception. The Pro version gets the top-tier Dimensity 9400+ manufactured with a 3nm process, while the base model features the Dimensity 8400-Ultra. In benchmarks, according to initial tests, this means performance comparable to last year’s flagships with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Cooling is provided by the Xiaomi 3D IceLoop system, which separates vapor and liquid for more efficient heat dissipation. In practice, the phone remains pleasantly cool during gaming or more demanding camera work. Memory configurations start at 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, with the Pro version offering up to 1 TB. Larger displays with higher refresh rates Displays have grown to 6.83 inches on both models. The Pro version features a 144Hz AMOLED with DC dimming and 1.5mm bezels thanks to LIPO technology. The base 15T will offer 120 Hz with PWM dimming at 3840 Hz. Maximum brightness reaches 3200 nits, and the resolution is 2772 × 1280 pixels. Eye protection is a priority – both displays are TÜV Rheinland certified for low blue light and flicker elimination. Naturally, they feature Gorilla Glass 7i with double the scratch resistance compared to the previous generation. 5500mAh battery with fast charging Battery capacity has increased to 5500 mAh, which should ensure comfortable all-day endurance even with more demanding use. The Pro version supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, while the base 15T offers 67W wired charging. An interesting feature is the phone’s ability to start up in 4 seconds even from a completely depleted battery after connecting to a charger. After 1600 charging cycles, the battery will retain at least 80% of its original capacity according to Xiaomi – this is a solid guarantee of long lifespan. HyperOS 3 with AI features The software runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 15. The system brings improved multitasking, faster app launches, and a redesigned user interface. AI features include a creative assistant for photo and video editing, but the full suite of Xiaomi HyperAI is not active by default – it will arrive with a later update. Czech prices and introductory offer The Xiaomi 15T starts at 14,999 CZK for the 12/256 GB version, while the 512 GB variant costs 16,999 CZK. The Pro model starts at 18,999 CZK (12/256 GB), the mid-range 12/512 GB version costs 20,999 CZK, and the top-tier with 1TB storage will cost 23,499 CZK. Introductory discounts are valid until October 19 – the 15T is 2,500 CZK cheaper (starting from 12,499 CZK), and the Pro version has a 3,500 CZK discount (starting from 15,499 CZK). In addition, Xiaomi offers a trade-in bonus of up to 3,000 CZK for an old phone and a Smart Band 10 as a gift. For a review, you can also get a Vacuum Cleaner G20 Lite.
