First Time with a 5x Telephoto Lens in the T Series

Xiaomi has confirmed on its website that it will bring a 5x telephoto lens for the very first time in the history of the T series. According to previously leaked information, the 15T Pro model should receive it, offering a 50Mpx Samsung JN5 telephoto lens with optical image stabilization. The base 15T model will have to settle for only 2x zoom without OIS.

The cameras will traditionally be tuned in collaboration with Leica. The Pro model will get a main 50Mpx Light Fusion 900 sensor with an f/1.62 aperture and optical stabilization, while the base version will use Light Fusion 800 with an f/1.7 aperture. Both phones will be complemented by a 12Mpx ultra-wide-angle camera and a 32Mpx selfie camera.

Large AMOLED Display and Powerful MediaTek Processors

According to leaked specifications, both models will feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772 × 1280 pixels, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The difference lies in the refresh rate – the 15T Pro can handle up to 144 Hz, while the base model will offer a maximum of 120 Hz. The panel achieves a peak brightness of up to 3200 nits and supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

Under the hood lies the biggest difference between the two models. The Xiaomi 15T is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra with a maximum frequency of 3.25 GHz, while the Pro model will offer the top-tier Dimensity 9400+ clocked up to 3.73 GHz. Both phones will come with 12 GB of RAM and a choice of two storage capacities – 256 or 512 GB.

Features and Expected Prices

Both phones will offer a 5500 mAh battery, but they differ in charging speed. The 15T Pro model supports 90W fast charging, while the base version can handle a maximum of 67 W. Xiaomi will not include a charger in the box this time either.

The phones have received IP68 certification for water and dust resistance and support a combination of physical NanoSIM and eSIM. The weight is 194 grams for the 15T model and 210 grams for the Pro version.

According to previously leaked information, the European price will start at 649 euros (15,900 CZK converted) for the Xiaomi 15T and 799 euros (19,600 CZK converted) for the Pro model. The phones will be available in black, silver, and bronze colors, with the bronze shade being slightly darker for the Pro model.

How to Watch the Launch Online

The conference in Munich will start on September 24 at 2:00 PM our time and can be watched online via official Xiaomi channels. The manufacturer also allows reserving a spot for the presentation and subscribing to news, offering 300 Mi Points and a chance to win a Bluetooth speaker for doing so.

Xiaomi has also launched a trade-in program for old devices for new 15T series models, which aims to help reduce electronic waste and make new phones accessible to more customers.
