It was only in February that Xiaomi introduced its flagship 15 and 15 Ultra series for the European market, and another important model is already on the horizon. The Xiaomi 15T has just been spotted in certification databases in Thailand (NBTC) and Singapore (IMDA), which traditionally signals that the official launch of this model is fast approaching. By all accounts, we could see the unveiling as early as next month or in September, exactly one year after the introduction of the previous 14T generation.

What do the certifications reveal?

The certification documents themselves don’t reveal much about the phone, apart from the model designation 25069PTEBG. However, thanks to information leaks in recent weeks, we can look forward to an interesting camera setup. The main sensor is expected to be 50Mpx with an OmniVision OVX8000 chip, complemented by a 13Mpx wide-angle lens and a 50Mpx telephoto lens utilizing a Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor.

Among other speculated parameters, the 5,500 mAh battery capacity is particularly noteworthy, offering support for 67W fast wired charging. This would represent a slight increase in capacity compared to last year’s generation, which featured a 5,000mAh battery.

Connection with Redmi K80 Ultra

An interesting detail that appeared in the code of the latest HyperOS 2.1 version is the fact that the Xiaomi 15T Pro shares its internal codename with the upcoming Redmi K80 Ultra, a model intended exclusively for the Chinese market. This suggests that the 15T Pro will be a global version of the aforementioned model, although it is likely not a simple rebrand.

This theory is also supported by the fact that the K80 Ultra and 15T Pro have different model numbers. Therefore, it is expected that the Xiaomi 15T Pro will be based on the K80 Ultra but will offer several significant improvements, especially in the camera department. Such an approach would align with the strategy Xiaomi has applied to the T series for several generations.

MediaTek Chips

If Xiaomi maintains its current strategy, it is likely that the base 15T model will rely on the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 processor, while the more powerful Pro version will get the Dimensity 9400 or 9400+. This choice would also make sense in terms of differentiating the T series from the main numerical series, which traditionally uses Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets.

Interestingly, the internal codenames of the new models continue the tradition of naming them after famous painters. The Xiaomi 15T bears the codename “klimt” after the Austrian painter Gustav Klimt, while the Pro version is designated as “turner” after the English painter J. M. W. Turner.

When can we expect the official unveiling?

Considering the history of T-series model launches and the newly discovered certifications, it is highly probable that the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro will be officially unveiled in September 2025. This timeline would align with the annual period since the introduction of the previous 14T and 14T Pro models, which were presented in September 2024.
