Xiaomi 17T is approaching. Another certification suggests an early launch, the base model will get a super new feature

Xiaomi expanded its offerings on the Czech market at the end of last month with the flagship Xiaomi 17 family, which includes the base model and the Ultra camera phone. While these new products are still finding their first owners, the next generation of the T series is already taking shape behind the scenes. Xiaomi 17T has now received certification from the Singaporean authority IMDA, suggesting that its launch is indeed approaching faster than we are used to.

Certification reveals new features

Xiaomi 17T appeared in the IMDA database with model number 2602DPT53G for the global market and 2602DPT53I for India. The phone had previously passed certification by the Indian BIS authority, so the cycle of approval processes is gradually unfolding. The documentation reveals one interesting new feature – wireless charging support, which last year’s 15T model lacked. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC are, of course, also present.

As we informed you in February, the 17T series carries internal code names inspired by famous painters. The base model is referred to as Chagall, while the enhanced Pro version has the codename Warhol.

What specifications do we expect?

The well-known leaker Digital Chat Station recently provided details about the alleged specifications of both models. The base Xiaomi 17T is expected to feature a 6.59″ flat display with 1.5K resolution and a gigantic 7,000mAh battery with support for 67W wired charging. The performance is expected to be handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset.

The Pro version should get a more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor and also a periscope telephoto lens. Both models are reportedly offering a trio of rear cameras tuned in collaboration with Leica – specifically a 50Mpx main sensor, a 12Mpx ultrawide, and a 50Mpx telephoto lens. On the front, we will find a 32Mpx selfie camera.

Unveiling as early as May?

The Xiaomi T series is traditionally unveiled in September – this was the case for both the 15T and 14T models. This year, however, there should be a significant shift. According to rumors from the Chinese social network Weibo, Xiaomi is preparing to unveil the 17T series around May, approximately four months earlier than usual.
