It’s quite possibly the best value Android you can get for this money, and in addition to the aforementioned advantages, it also impresses with fast charging, for example.

A phone with minimal compromises under 15 thousand

In the class around fifteen thousand, something is usually missing. Either a telephoto lens, performance, or a decent battery. The Xiaomi 17T Pro has all three: a top-tier MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, cameras tuned with Leica including a 50Mpx periscopic telephoto lens, and a 7,000 mAh capacity battery. In our review, it earned 91%, and in terms of build quality, we believe it feels more expensive than what Xiaomi charges for it.

Now, it’s also significantly cheaper. With code ALZADNY15, it costs 14,442 Kč, which is 2,548 Kč less than its launch price of 16,990 Kč. Alza adds a one-year digital subscription to Hospodářské noviny worth 1,990 Kč with the phone, and Xiaomi offers a one-time free display repair within the first six months. Trial versions of YouTube Premium, Spotify Premium, and Google AI Pro are also included.

The cameras are dominated by a five-fold periscope

The main 50Mpx Light Fusion 950 sensor has a size of 1/1.31″ and an aperture of f/1.67, complemented by a 12Mpx ultrawide lens and, most importantly, a 50Mpx periscopic telephoto lens with 5× optical zoom and optical stabilization. It can also handle telemacro from 30 centimeters, so you can photograph a detail of a flower or insect without having to get close to the object with your phone. Xiaomi also advertises 120× AI zoom, but this is digital, and owners themselves admit that you shouldn’t expect miracles from it.

In our review, we ranked the main camera among the best in its class. The weaker link, however, is the ultrawide lens, which cannot autofocus. The phone can record video up to 8K at 30 frames per second, or 4K at 120 frames.

According to owners, the battery lasts even two days

The second major attraction is the silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 7,000 mAh, which, according to the manufacturer, fits into a body only 8.25 mm thick. Many owners on Alza write that with normal use, it lasts two days, some even longer. How long it lasts for you, of course, depends on how you use the phone.

It charges quickly, 100 W wired and 50 W wirelessly. Xiaomi states a full charge in 48 minutes, while in our test, it took approximately 70 minutes. For full wireless charging speed, you need an official Xiaomi stand, and you won’t find a charger in the box, only a USB-A to USB-C cable.

Display readable even in sunlight and performance to spare

The AMOLED display with a 6.83″ diagonal has a refresh rate of 144 Hz and brightness up to 3,500 nits, so according to users, you can read it without problems even in direct sunlight. Inside, a Dimensity 9500 with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage beats, which you cannot expand with a card. IP68 rating, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, and eSIM are all present. The manufacturer promises five major Android updates and six years of security patches.

Fantastic ratings from Czech shoppers

Such a score is rarely seen for a phone. An average of 5.0 out of 5 from 1,673 customers consists of 1,605 five-star ratings, 62 four-star ratings, and six three-star ratings. The phone is recommended by 100% of reviewers, over 500 units have been sold, and the return rate is only 0.76%. With such a large number of ratings, it’s no longer a coincidence.

In 1,619 written reviews, praise for battery life, fast charging, and the telephoto lens is most frequently repeated, with which people are satisfied even at ten times zoom. Many owners have switched from older Xiaomi or Redmi phones, but there are also those who have moved from Samsung, Pixel, or iPhone. They will also appreciate the case and pre-applied protective film in the box.

Criticisms also recur in the reviews. Most often, these are the missing charger, higher weight, and larger dimensions; some people are bothered by pre-installed apps in HyperOS, and several owners write that the phone heats up under higher load. A minor note: the included case is black for all colors, so you’ll hide the Deep Blue under it.

When to rather opt for something else

If you have last year’s Xiaomi 15T Pro, the upgrade doesn’t make much sense. As we wrote in the review, the new model mainly brings a larger battery, a newer chip, and faster charging. Anyone who wants a compact phone for one hand will probably not get used to the 6.83″ display and higher weight. More demanding users who transfer large videos via cable might also be disappointed by the slow USB 2.0.

For 14,442 Kč, I wouldn’t hesitate long

The Xiaomi 17T Pro is not a revolution, but for 14,442 Kč, you’ll be hard-pressed to find competition around fifteen thousand. A true periscope, a battery that often lasts two days, flagship performance, and ratings rarely seen for phones. It will be especially appreciated by those who take many photos, dislike charging, and don’t want to reach for the most expensive flagships because of it. On the other hand, whoever desires a small phone, or already owns a 15T Pro, should save their money.
