Xiaomi really stepped up its power bank game this year. It first introduced a 10,000mAh model with an integrated USB-C cable and 165W total output to the Czech market, which was soon followed by a piece for even more demanding users. This one is called the Xiaomi 212W HyperCharge Power Bank 25000mAh and its attractions are more than you can count on one hand. However, it cannot be unequivocally said that this is a model that everyone should have at home – partly due to its higher price, but also considering its dimensions. Let’s therefore take a look at who will appreciate this power bank the most and for whom the investment in it will truly pay off.

Attractive Design and Robust Construction

Before we delve into the technical parameters, let’s take a look at the new power bank from the outside. While the design cannot be said to be directly original – you’ll find similarly looking products on the market – it is at least truly visually attractive. At least if you are a technology enthusiast. Would a power bank that reveals its internals and looks a bit like a device from a sci-fi movie appeal to my mom or grandma? I would dare say probably not. In fact, they would likely prefer an inconspicuous single-color design. But the fact is that I, and probably many of you readers, seek out products that are not boring and can differentiate themselves from the perceived stereotype. And the Xiaomi 212W HyperCharge Power Bank 25000mAh succeeds at that wonderfully.

The transparent design is complemented by reinforced edges and corners, which make the device feel incredibly robust. I wouldn’t hesitate to say that the power bank doesn’t just seem durable, but truly is. While I don’t tend to drop borrowed products from height onto concrete, the Xiaomi 212W HyperCharge Power Bank 25000mAh is precisely the kind of device where I wouldn’t be too worried about a fall significantly damaging it. Thanks to the rounded edges of the power bank, it also feels good in the hand.

Where the first problem arises is with dimensions and weight. The power bank is simply massive, which is understandable given its capacity and output. However, it needs to be clarified that you wouldn’t want to carry a device measuring 55.4 x 55.4 x 160 mm and weighing over 600 g in a handbag or small carry-on bag every day. If you’re just going for a walk in the city and only have your smartphone with you, at most accessories like a watch or headphones, a more compact model will definitely be a better companion.

High Capacity, Just Enough to Get You on a Plane

Where the power bank is already on a higher level than the average model that everyone will have at home is its capacity. With 25,000 mAh, it’s possible to charge a smartphone more than three times (or even more if it’s an iPhone), so it definitely won’t let you down on longer trips. It’s also suitable for one-day trips, for example, if you’re traveling for work and have multiple devices with you – typically a laptop, phone, and tablet or some accessories. If your laptop supports power delivery via a USB-C port, with the Xiaomi 212W HyperCharge power bank, you’ll be sure that you won’t have to stop working early due to a drained battery.

It’s advantageous that the power bank has three ports – two USB-C and one USB-A – so charging multiple devices simultaneously is no problem at all. And since the capacity corresponds to 90.8 Wh, you’ll even be allowed to take the power bank on board an airplane, as it fits within the standardized 100 Wh limit.

Abundant Power Output

The second area where the power bank excels even more significantly is charging output power. As its name suggests, it can provide up to 212 W – though this is, of course, the total power distributed among all ports. The reality is that if you only use the primary USB-C output, the power bank will offer up to 140 W (or 120 W if you only use the USB-A output). This is ideal for charging laptops or smartphones that support very high charging power (typically, for example, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G with 120 W).

When all three ports are occupied, the power is distributed to 120 W, 65 W, and 27 W, which together totals the 212 W. These are ideal values for simultaneously charging a laptop, smartphone, and tablet/accessory.

Last but not least, it’s pleasing that the power bank supports 100W self-charging, so with a good adapter, you can charge it from zero to 100% capacity in 2.5 hours.

Color Display Adds Practicality

More expensive power banks that combine high capacity with ultra-fast charging support usually feature a more premium display today. Manufacturers like Anker or UGREEN commonly offer this in their products, and fortunately, Xiaomi’s new product is no different. It features a color screen through which the charging status can be monitored.

When charging the power bank itself, you can see how much time remains until 100% capacity is reached, and when charging other devices, you’ll appreciate the information about the remaining capacity and the speed at which the given piece of electronics is charging. The display can be lit up with the yellow button located just below it. I must commend Xiaomi for its solid brightness, which makes the image easily readable even in sunlight (which is not the case with the 165W power bank with an integrated cable).

Verdict: Who Should Buy This Power Bank?

From all the preceding lines, it is clear that the Xiaomi 212W HyperCharge Power Bank 25000 represents a solution for more demanding users. This is also reflected in the price, which the manufacturer set for our market at 1,999 CZK. Compared to ordinary power banks, this is a very expensive solution, and its purchase should be carefully considered. The features are objectively excellent, but the question arises whether you will truly utilize them to their full potential.

Thanks to its capacity, the Xiaomi 212W HyperCharge Power Bank 25000 is suitable for multi-day trips or frequent charging of multiple devices simultaneously. Therefore, if you don’t plan to go somewhere for an extended period where you are highly unlikely to have access to the electrical grid, then you will probably be fine with a lower capacity power bank – in such a case, the 165W Xiaomi model with an integrated cable and 10,000 mAh capacity is ideal. It is significantly smaller and lighter.

The second factor that drives up the price is the power output. The total output of 212 W is absolutely phenomenal, but again, you must ask yourself if you can actually utilize it in practice. Does your laptop support charging via a USB-C port, and do you often run out of power on the go? Then I wouldn’t hesitate too much. Do you have a phone like the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G with support for truly high charging power? Even in this case, the purchase makes sense.

The Xiaomi 212W HyperCharge Power Bank 25000 will be most utilized by users who regularly use multiple different devices on their travels. It offers the ideal capacity, number of ports, and power output for this, while I consider the design and construction, as well as the integrated color display, to be pleasant bonuses. The only disadvantages are essentially the price and the size along with the weight, considering which each user must realize whether the purchase truly makes sense for them. Regardless of an individual’s subjective needs, it is overall an excellent product that will accompany me on many journeys from now on.
