Xiaomi 65W Power Dock is heading to global markets! The small docking station will offer nice performance

Xiaomi is expanding its portfolio of GaN chargers, and after its debut on the Taiwanese market, it is bringing the Xiaomi 65W Power Dock docking station to the global market as well. If the term GaN immediately confused you, in the context of a docking station it means gallium nitride, a modern semiconductor material that is gradually replacing classic silicon in power supply and charging technology. In practice, this means you can expect more performance from a smaller device body.

The elegant white “block” with dimensions of 120 x 46.5 x 44 mm houses three power sockets and a total of four USB ports. The Taiwanese version currently offers two Type B three-pin sockets and one two-pin socket.

Two USB-C ports with Xiaomi HyperCharge technology support can handle up to 65 W of power, which in practice could mean that the Xiaomi 14 model can reach half capacity in about 18 minutes.

Charging time, however, depends on whether you are using an original cable, for example, or on the general condition of the battery. The USB-A ports subsequently provide 22.5 W of power, which is sufficient for smaller devices such as headphones or watches.

How does the Xiaomi 65W Power Dock handle power sharing?

When all four USB ports are connected, the dock can split the power to 45 W and 15 W for the remaining three outputs. There is also a bimetallic fuse button that protects against overload with a limit of 1,650 W.

Although the device has now appeared on Xiaomi’s global portal, the company is currently keeping the price and availability for Europe a secret. The Taiwanese price, however, is NT$ 799, which is approximately ~ 580 CZK. A similar price can therefore be expected.
