Xiaomi also manufactures its own ice maker. It prepares transparent cubes in six minutes Home News Xiaomi launched crowdfunding for its first standalone ice maker under the Mijia brand It prepares transparent cylindrical cubes in six to eight minutes and costs approximately 1,130 CZK For now, it can only be bought in China via Xiaomi Youpin; it is not officially coming to the Czech Republic Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 19. 8. 2026 14:30 Advertisement Xiaomi’s ecosystem includes almost everything from phones to scooters to toothbrushes – and now it’s adding another piece destined for the kitchen counter. The Mijia Ice Maker will serve a full batch of cubes before you even have time to mix a drink. Crowdfunding is currently running on Xiaomi Youpin for 359 yuan, which is approximately 1,130 CZK. Xiaomi ice maker produces cubes in six minutes The device offers two modes. In the faster mode, it produces eight small transparent cubes in about six to eight minutes – instead of the two to four hours required by a classic freezer compartment. Those not in a hurry can switch to standard cubes, which are a bit larger and clearer. Clarity is the main advantage here. Xiaomi claims that thanks to even freezing, fewer bubbles and impurities remain inside, so the ice does not lose transparency or turn white. Furthermore, according to the manufacturer, larger cubes melt slower, which is especially appreciated in drinks where you don’t want to dilute the flavor – such as cold brew coffee, whiskey, or sparkling drinks. It’s nothing new that Xiaomi is expanding the Mijia line into literally every corner of the home – just recently we wrote about a smart aquarium that practically takes care of your fish almost by itself. The entire unit weighs 6.1 kilograms and is easily portable. It has a transparent window on the front, so you can see the ice supply without opening the lid, and LED indicators also show the status – from low water to UV cleaning to the selected mode. The power supply method is also interesting: in addition to a wall socket, Xiaomi states it can also be powered by a car inverter, so you can make ice even while camping or on a trip. The body holds one liter of water, the reservoir can hold approximately 64 to 80 cubes, and according to the manufacturer, the device can produce around 13 kilograms of ice per day. It also features a delayed start for three, five, or eight hours – you can schedule it for the morning, for example. Maintenance was also considered. The ice maker has an automatic cleaning program and a drain on the side to flush out residual water after use to prevent odors from developing inside. An internal UV lamp ensures continuous hygiene, and the ice scoop has its own storage slot. Price and Availability Crowdfunding runs on Xiaomi Youpin from August 17th and ends on August 24th, with the price set at 359 yuan (approximately 1,130 CZK). The regular recommended price is expected to be 399 yuan, or around 1,250 CZK, with shipping starting from August 25th. The new product is currently aimed exclusively at the Chinese market. Xiaomi has not announced an official arrival in the Czech Republic, and for such narrowly focused items from crowdfunding platforms, it is very uncertain whether they will ever leave China. Would you get a standalone ice maker for your home, or are freezer ice cubes enough for you?
