Xiaomi quietly brought its probably most affordable smartphone of this year to the Czech Republic – Redmi 15C. The new device is available starting from 2,999 CZK in the 4/128 GB configuration, while the improved version with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage costs 3,799 CZK. The biggest change compared to the previous generation is the more subdued design of the rear side, which no longer suffers from the enormous camera module of its predecessor.

Finally a Reasonable Design

The Redmi 15C has shed one of the biggest criticisms of the previous generation. While its predecessor suffered from a massive camera module that occupied a significant portion of the rear, the new generation offers a significantly more subdued and elegant solution. The phone is available in three color variants – blue, black, and green – and with dimensions of 173.16 x 81.07 x 8.2 mm and a weight of 211 grams, it ranks among larger phones.

The front is dominated by a 6.9-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Although it’s not the sharpest panel on the market, in this price category, it could offer an acceptable content viewing experience.

Specifications Matching the Price

Under the hood of the Redmi 15C, we find an octa-core MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra processor, which can handle common tasks such as browsing social media, watching videos, or less demanding games. The basic variant offers 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, while the more expensive version brings 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal memory.

The phone’s biggest asset is its massive 6,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging – its predecessor, meanwhile, only offered a 5,160mAh capacity and 18W charging. It also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C connector, and a fingerprint reader in the power button.

As for photography, the Redmi 15C relies solely on one rear camera with a 50Mpx sensor, which might not be enough for some users who, for example, like to shoot with an ultra-wide-angle lens.

Last but not least, the phone offers IP64 protection against dust and splashing water, which is not a given in this price category. The phone runs on the HyperOS 2 operating system based on Android 15, which brings an improved user interface and a number of optimizations for smoother system operation.

Price and Availability

The Redmi 15C is already available at the authorized Mi Store with immediate availability. The basic 4/128 GB version costs 2,999 CZK, while the improved 8/256 GB configuration costs 3,799 CZK.

Did the Redmi 15C impress you with its price and more subdued design compared to its predecessor?
