Xiaomi has released the HyperOS 3 rollout plan for the global market, and with it came unpleasant news – over 20 devices from the Poco, Redmi, and Xiaomi portfolios will not receive the new system version. Some of these are not even three years old, which indicates a problematic approach by the manufacturer to long-term support. For users of affected models, this means their phones will reach their end-of-life this year and will stop receiving security updates.

What is HyperOS 3 and when is it being released?

HyperOS 3 is the third generation of Xiaomi’s Android overlay, which replaced the previous MIUI. The manufacturer has divided the update plan into three phases, running from October 2025 to March 2026. The first wave began in October and includes flagship models, the second wave will follow in January to February 2026, and the third phase will conclude the release in spring 2026.

For the Chinese market, Xiaomi has published a separate plan that also includes models specific to that market – for example, Mix Fold foldable phones or the Redmi K series, which is not sold in the Czech Republic. The global plan is therefore somewhat more concise but still covers dozens of models.

Interestingly, not all devices with HyperOS 3 will receive all features. For example, Hyper Island, a new feature for managing notifications and widgets, will not be available on some mid-range models – including the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus, which is a phone that was released only a few months ago.

Which devices will not receive HyperOS 3?

Xiaomi has published a list of devices that will reach end-of-life this year and were not included in the official HyperOS 3 update plan. They will receive their last security updates no later than February 2026, after which they will officially be considered obsolete.

List of discontinued devices:

  • POCO F4
  • POCO F4 Pro
  • POCO F4 GT
  • POCO M5
  • POCO M5s
  • POCO X4 GT Pro
  • POCO X4 GT
  • POCO X5 Pro 5G
  • Redmi A2
  • Redmi A2+
  • Redmi 12C
  • Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE

  • Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite
  • Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G
  • Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

So, if you own one of these phones, you will receive security patches for a few more months, then your device’s lifespan will end, and you will need to purchase a new one or switch to an alternative ROM.
