Chinese Xiaomi is expanding its smart home portfolio with a new Mijia Smart Water Purifier N800G. The device has appeared on the manufacturer’s global website, indicating future availability in international markets (possibly including ours). The new product combines six-stage RO filtration with compact dimensions and mobile app connectivity.

Six-stage filtration for removing bacteria and heavy metals

At the heart of the purifier are RO and PPC composite filters, which ensure six-stage water filtration. The system removes rust, residual chlorine, bacteria, heavy metals, and other impurities invisible to the naked eye. The device operates with a flow rate of 2 liters per minute, which, according to the manufacturer, is sufficient for the daily needs of a larger household.

The Mijia Smart Water Purifier N800G has dimensions of 127 × 420 × 310 mm and a power consumption of 75 W. It operates at temperatures from 5 to 38 °C and requires an inlet water pressure between 0.1 to 0.4 MPa. The total filtration capacity reaches 4,000 liters, with filter lifespan depending on the quality of the inlet water and intensity of use.

Smart faucet with color signaling

Included in the package is a special faucet with an LED indicator that changes color according to the filter status. Blue indicates normal operation, flashing orange warns of an approaching end to the filter’s lifespan, and solid orange means the filter needs to be replaced.

The purifier connects to the Xiaomi Home app via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. In the app, you can monitor the quality of the output water, water consumption, and the remaining filter lifespan. Integration with the smart home allows for remote monitoring and potential notifications about the need to replace filter cartridges.

How is the water purifier installed under the sink?

For the average user, installing a water purifier might be an unfamiliar task. The device is placed under the kitchen sink, where it connects to the cold water supply using a three-way valve provided in the package. Installation requires connecting three hoses with different functions.

The blue hose supplies water from the main water pipe to the filter, the white hose carries filtered water to a separate faucet on the sink, and the grey hose discharges wastewater with impurities into the siphon under the sink. The purifier requires power from a standard 230 V outlet.

In addition to the purifier itself and the faucet, the package includes all necessary hoses, clamps of various sizes, a pressure reducing valve, and PTFE tape for sealing connections. Installation can be handled by a handier DIYer; less experienced users should consider professional plumber assistance.

Availability unknown for now

Xiaomi has not yet announced the price or specific markets where the Mijia Smart Water Purifier N800G will be available. Given its appearance on global websites, a gradual expansion outside of China can be expected, but it remains to be seen whether the device will reach the Czech Republic.

Would you welcome a smart water purifier under your sink?
