Xiaomi electric scooters are among the most popular on the market, so it’s no surprise that the manufacturer is gradually expanding its Electric Scooter 5 series. The latest addition is the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Plus model, which has so far officially appeared only on the Philippine market. The new model offers 12-inch tubeless tires and other improvements compared to the basic models in the series.

Larger Tires for Better Riding Comfort

The main novelty of the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Plus are the 12-inch tubeless tires, which represent an upgrade over the 10-inch wheels used in other models of the series. Larger tires ensure better stability on uneven surfaces and reduce the risk of getting stuck when overcoming obstacles. At the same time, they provide significantly higher traction and an overall more stable ride.

The scooter is equipped with a front dual-spring shock absorber with a maximum travel of 30 mm, which effectively reduces vibrations caused by unevenness. Higher handlebars and a larger footboard contribute to overall riding comfort.

Powerful Motor and Long Battery Life

Under the hood of the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Plus, we find a brushless motor with a maximum power of 900 W and a rated power of 400 W. It can accelerate the scooter to a maximum speed of 25 km/h and handle inclines of up to 20 percent. There are three speed modes available – pedestrian (6 km/h), standard (15 km/h), and sport (25 km/h).

The battery provides a range of up to 60 kilometers on a single charge, which matches other models in the series. The intelligent battery management system Smart BMS offers six protection mechanisms, including overcharge, undercharge, short circuit, and overheating protection.

Safety Features and Smart Functions

The new model features a TCS anti-slip system, which needs to be activated manually and improves traction in wet conditions. The scooter has an overall IPX5 rating, and the battery even has an IPX6 rating, so you don’t have to worry about riding in the rain.

Safety during night rides is ensured by a smart lighting system with automatic activation in dark environments. The high-brightness headlight has a range of 10 meters, and the taillight automatically illuminates when braking. A reliable dual braking system combines a front drum brake and a rear E-ABS electronic brake.

App Connectivity and Practical Details

Like other models in the series, the Electric Scooter 5 Plus can be connected to the Xiaomi Home app. This allows monitoring of remaining range, battery status, activation of assistance functions, or motor locking. Also practical are scooter search via Bluetooth and tire pressure maintenance.

The construction made of high-strength carbon steel can bear a load of up to 120 kilograms. The scooter folds in three simple steps and is equipped with a convenient carrying mechanism. A seat can be purchased as an accessory, but its availability may vary by region.

Availability and Comparison with Other Models in the Series

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Plus model is currently sold only in the Philippines, and it is unclear when or if it will arrive in the Czech Republic. Xiaomi often releases specific models only for certain markets. In the Czech Republic, we already have three different variants of the Electric Scooter 5 series available, which differ mainly in suspension equipment, motor power, and price.

Comparison Table of Electric Scooter 5 Models

All models offer the same range of 60 kilometers and a maximum speed of 25 km/h. The main differences are found in the quality of suspension, motor power for climbing hills, and, in the case of the new Plus model, also in tire size. The 5 Max model with hydraulic shock absorbers represents the most comfortable variant, while the 5 Plus could offer the best stability thanks to larger wheels.
