Xiaomi HyperOS 3 is just around the corner! These devices will be the first to get it outside of China

A surprise for owners of older Xiaomi devices. While you might expect the latest flagships to be the first to receive the new HyperOS 3, the opposite is true. The XiaomiTime server has released a list of models that will receive the global version of the system as early as September 24 – and among them, we find phones and tablets released several months ago. The only new product to receive the system on the same day will be the Xiaomi 15T series, which will have HyperOS 3 pre-installed right out of the box.

These devices will be the first to get HyperOS 3

The list of lucky ones who will be able to be the first to try the global beta version of the new system looks interesting. Xiaomi has evidently opted for a mix of flagship models and more affordable devices:

Surprisingly, the flagship Xiaomi 14 model is missing from the list. Instead, Xiaomi has apparently prioritized mid-range models and tablets, suggesting an effort to test the system on a wider range of hardware before widespread deployment. For example, the previously published list also included the Redmi Pad 2, including the 4G version, and the POCO F7 Pro.

Super Island like on an iPhone, but better

The main star of HyperOS 3 is undoubtedly Super Island – another Chinese interpretation of Dynamic Island known from iPhone 14 Pro. Unlike Apple, however, the Chinese manufacturer has improved the feature: while an iPhone can display a maximum of two live activities, Xiaomi Super Island displays up to three simultaneously. In practice, this means you can track a timer, navigation, and music playback all at once.

The system’s design has undergone a complete transformation. New icons are minimalist with a unified style, status indicators have a more modern look, and the entire system uses a “liquid glass” effect, which gives the interface a premium feel. Xiaomi has also added the option for detailed clock customization on the lock screen, including various fonts and animations.

30% faster system thanks to new optimizations

HyperOS 3 is not just about appearance. Xiaomi has worked on performance optimizations, and the results are impressive. The system offers up to 30% better performance in benchmarks, applications launch faster, and animations are smoother. In practice, this means instant response when switching between applications and fewer lags even during more demanding tasks.

The Xiaomi HyperConnect functional suite has also received new features, improving connectivity between ecosystem devices. For example, you can forward calls and SMS between your phone and tablet, share the clipboard, or continue working on a document from another device.
