Xiaomi innovates: Mijia Smart Clothes Dryer 2 Pro is a practical solution for smart homes

Xiaomi has launched another innovative product in China for its smart home line: the ceiling-mounted Mijia Smart Clothes Dryer 2 Pro. This device combines the practical function of drying clothes with a premium design and modern smart features that have the potential to fit into contemporary smart homes. It is specific for its 9.5 cm thin construction that can be integrated into the ceiling, but the drying rods themselves can remain hidden when not in use.

Another interesting fact is that the device can also serve as a source of room lighting. It has 120 built-in LED diodes with high color accuracy (Ra97), providing up to 2200 lumens of brightness. Both the color and intensity of the light can be adjusted.

The dryer itself offers a total of 94 drying positions, including:

• 40 fixed hanging slots
• 20 extendable rods
• 32 rotating hooks
• 2 special rods for drying duvets

The Mijia Smart Clothes Dryer 2 Pro is designed for a maximum load of up to 35 kg of laundry. The rods are made of aluminum alloy and corrosion-resistant stainless steel, making them robust and resistant to corrosion.

The device is powered by a quiet motor that allows for vertical movement of up to 1.1 meters. The dryer can be easily controlled via the Mi Home app, the Xiao Ai voice assistant, or a remote control. Overall, the dryer has low noise levels of less than 55 dB(A), which is often perceived as quiet background noise.

Furthermore, it is compatible with the HyperOS ecosystem, so it can cooperate with other smart appliances such as washing machines or dehumidifiers.

Safety should be ensured by mechanisms such as automatic stopping upon obstacle detection and also the automatic retraction function of the rods.

In terms of availability, this product is currently only a Chinese specialty. The introductory price is 1,699 jüanů (~ 5,000 Kč), after which the price will rise to the standard 1,799 jüanů (~ 5,300 Kč). The offer currently includes professional installation along with a 3-year warranty. However, there is no information on global availability.
