Xiaomi is expanding its portfolio of security cameras with the Smart Camera 4C 3.5K model, which debuts in China with a price of 199 yuan (approximately 600 CZK without VAT). The camera primarily stands out with its 6MP sensor with 3.5K resolution and integrated artificial intelligence for recognizing people and animals. Sales will start on August 11 through Chinese e-shops, including the official Xiaomi store.

1/2.45-inch image sensor

The Xiaomi Smart Camera 4C uses a 1/2.45-inch sensor, which captures images at a resolution of 2880 × 1728 pixels. For night shots, the camera includes eight infrared LED diodes operating at a wavelength of 940 nm. This wavelength ensures that the light is not visible to the human eye, so the camera does not disturb with a red glow at night.

Thanks to the high sensitivity of the sensor, the camera can capture detailed footage even in low light. Xiaomi states support for digital zoom to magnify specific areas in the frame.

AI chip distinguishes people from pets

The camera includes a dedicated AI chip with sufficient computing power, which processes images directly on the device without the need to send data to the cloud. Artificial intelligence can distinguish between people and domestic animals – upon detecting a person, it automatically starts motion tracking and sends a notification to the Mi Home app on the phone.

When a dog or cat’s movement is detected, the camera also sends an alert, so you’ll know what your pet is doing at home. The motion tracking feature ensures that the camera automatically rotates the lens to follow the moving object.

Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 for stable transmission

The Xiaomi Smart Camera 4C supports Wi-Fi 6 on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, ensuring stable image transmission without interruptions or delays.

Video can be viewed via the Mi Home app on a phone, tablet, or smart display. The camera supports sharing access with other household members and control using Xiao Ai voice assistants in Xiaomi smart speakers.

Two-way communication and physical shutter

The camera includes a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way voice communication. You can talk to visitors at the door, check on children, or speak remotely to pets. For privacy protection, the camera is equipped with a physical lens cover that can be manually closed.

Price and availability in China

The Xiaomi Smart Camera 4C 3.5K will be available in China from August 11 for 199 yuan, which is approximately 600 CZK without VAT. The camera will be available in white through the official Xiaomi e-shop and partner retailers. The manufacturer has not yet released information about a possible launch in global markets, including Europe.
