Chinese technology giant Xiaomi has introduced a new generation of its popular air purifier. The Mijia Air Purifier 6 Dual-Core model primarily targets households with recently completed renovations or new furniture, where there is an increased concentration of harmful substances. The device is currently on pre-sale on the Xiaomi Youpin platform for 2,599 yuan, which is approximately 7,700 CZK in conversion.

Dual Filtration System for Maximum Efficiency

The main innovation of the Dual-Core model is its dual filtration with two separate filters that work simultaneously. Each filter contains a seven-layer structure including a dust pre-filter, an antibacterial layer, a high-density layer for formaldehyde capture, a nanofilter, an activated carbon layer, a special layer for formaldehyde decomposition, and a UV sterilization module.

Thanks to this design, the purifier achieves impressive performance parameters – CADR for formaldehyde is 700 m³/h and for common particles it’s even 949 m³/h. In practice, this means effective purification of a space measuring 56 to 96 square meters. Xiaomi states that the device removes up to 99% of formaldehyde within one hour and achieves the same efficiency in eliminating H1N1 viruses.

Six Sensors Monitor Air Quality in Real-Time

The Mijia Air Purifier 6 Dual-Core is equipped with six different sensors that continuously measure the concentration of PM1 and PM2.5 particles, dust levels, formaldehyde concentration, temperature, and air humidity. All measured values are displayed on the LCD screen, which, in addition to numerical data, also offers clear graphs of air quality development.

For allergy sufferers, the purifier’s ability to eliminate over 98% of allergens, including pollen and dust mites, is important. Nanofilters effectively capture even the smallest particles that conventional purifiers let through. The antibacterial layer combined with the UV module ensures 99.9% effectiveness in eliminating bacteria.

Quiet Operation and Smart Control

When designing the new purifier, engineers also considered user comfort. In night mode, the device produces only 31.6 dB of noise, which is quieter than a whisper. For undisturbed sleep, the display can also be turned off so that the light does not disturb in the dark.

The purifier integrates into the Xiaomi ecosystem via the Mijia app (Mi Home in the international version) and the HyperOS system. It also supports Xiao Ai voice control, so you can change modes and fan speed with a simple voice command. The app allows for remote control, real-time air quality monitoring, and will notify you when the filter needs to be replaced.

Practical Design with Wheels

The purifier features a vertical tower design with a closed top cover that prevents dust accumulation. On the bottom side are omnidirectional wheels for easy movement between rooms. The filter door uses magnetic attachment, which simplifies replacement.

A replacement filter set costs 299 yuan (about 980 CZK) and, according to the manufacturer, lasts up to 12 months of operation. This represents reasonable operating costs compared to competitors.

Availability Outside China Remains Unclear

Xiaomi has not yet announced whether the Mijia Air Purifier 6 Dual-Core will reach global markets. For comparison – the international version of the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 has only one filter and a significantly lower CADR of 218 m³/h. The Dual-Core model is therefore primarily intended for the Chinese market, where the problem of polluted air and formaldehyde from new furniture is particularly acute.
