The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has expanded its range of robotic vacuum cleaners in the Czech Republic with the Robot Vacuum S40C model, which was first introduced this May. The new product, priced at 3,599 CZK, targets customers looking for an affordable robotic vacuum cleaner with modern features. Thanks to its 5,000 Pa suction power and laser navigation, it offers a very interesting price-to-performance ratio (as is customary for Xiaomi).

Powerful Vacuum Cleaner with Laser Navigation

The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C features 5,000 Pa suction power, which is above average in this price category. The robot offers four suction modes – quiet for evening cleaning, standard for daily use, strong for more thorough cleaning, and turbo mode for removing stubborn dirt. The dustbin has a capacity of 520 ml, minimizing the need for frequent emptying.

Accurate navigation is handled by the LDS laser system (Laser Distance Sensor), which provides 360° scanning of the area. This allows the robot to quickly map the entire household and create a precise floor plan of the rooms. As a result, it can efficiently plan the cleaning route and prevent missing certain areas. Several integrated sensors also reduce the risk of getting stuck or falling down stairs.

In addition to vacuuming, the S40C also handles floor mopping. The water tank has a volume of 260 ml and offers three water flow levels that can be adjusted to the floor type. The robot can overcome thresholds up to 20 mm high, which will be appreciated by homeowners with carpets or thresholds between rooms.

Smart Features and App Control

Through the Xiaomi Home app, users gain full control over the robot. The app allows remote cleaning initiation, real-time progress monitoring, scheduling cleaning at specific times, or selecting specific areas for cleaning. After mapping is complete, virtual walls and restricted zones can be set, preventing the robot from entering them.

The robot also supports voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. A simple voice command is enough for the vacuum cleaner to start or stop cleaning.

Practical features include carpet cleaning preference, where the robot automatically increases suction power when a carpet is detected, or the option for zone cleaning for selected areas. The system remembers the home map, so it doesn’t need to remap the space during subsequent cleanings.
