Xiaomi is preparing new headphones for around 500 CZK. They will offer up to 37 hours of battery life

Xiaomi is apparently preparing another addition to the Redmi Buds 8 family of wireless headphones. Renders, complete specifications, and packaging photos of the Redmi Buds 8 Active model have leaked online, which should become the most affordable member of the entire series. In Europe, it should cost less than 20 euros, which is approximately 500 CZK.

Open-fit design inspired by AirPods

While the more expensive Redmi Buds 8 Lite use classic silicone ear tips, the Active model comes with an open-fit design similar to Apple AirPods 4. The headphones will therefore not block the ear canal, which will be appreciated by users who prefer a looser fit. The stems and charging case look almost identical to the Lite variant. Three color variants will be available: blue, black, and white.

Specifications and battery life

Inside the headphones, there should be a 14.2mm dynamic driver with a titanium diaphragm. Call quality will be handled by a dual microphone system with AI noise reduction and wind noise suppression up to 6 m/s. The headphones support Bluetooth 5.4, AAC codec, and Google Fast Pair for quick pairing with Android devices.

Each earbud contains a 37mAh battery, while the case has a 475mAh cell. On a single charge, the earbuds should last approximately 7 hours of playback, and with the case, a total of up to 37 hours. Charging via USB-C takes about an hour for the earbuds and 2.5 hours for the case.

When exactly Xiaomi will unveil the headphones is not yet clear. However, given the leak of complete materials, including packaging photos, it shouldn’t be long.
