Xiaomi is preparing Redmi Note 17 Pro Max for Europe. But the price raises questions

The top model of the upcoming Redmi Note 17 series has revealed itself. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max in its global version, with model designation 2609FRA74G, underwent a Geekbench 7 test, confirming its processor and indicative performance. The letter “G” at the end of the designation suggests that the phone is headed for international markets, including Europe.

A chip that won’t blow anyone away

The tested unit is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 – an octa-core chip manufactured with a 4nm process and Adreno 812 graphics, which Qualcomm introduced this May. In the test, it achieved 924 points in the single-core test and 2,923 points in the multi-core test, with 8 GB of memory and Android 16. These are solid numbers for the mid-range, but don’t expect any miracles. For 14 thousand CZK, you can buy phones with much higher performance.

Nine thousand milliamp-hours and a hundred watts

The rest of the parameters were published on X by tipster Sudhanshu. The phone is expected to feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution referred to as 1.5K and a 120 Hz refresh rate, along with a 9,210 mAh battery with 100W charging. The camera setup consists of a 50Mpx main sensor with optical stabilization, an 8Mpx wide-angle camera, and a 32Mpx selfie lens. The battery and charging are clearly the main draws here, especially compared to typical competitors in this class.

More is expected for this price

And then there’s the price. According to an older leak, the 8/256 GB variant is expected to cost 599 euros, which is roughly around 14,700 Czech crowns. However, for that kind of money, you’re entering a territory where phones with significantly more powerful processors await you. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will therefore have to convince primarily with its battery life and charging, because performance won’t be its strong suit. Xiaomi has not yet announced the official launch.
