Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has unveiled a new generation of its mini-LED TVs, designated as the TV S Pro Mini LED Series 2026. The biggest draw is a monster with a 98-inch diagonal, making it one of the largest TVs available on the regular consumer market. If even this isn’t enough for you, the only option left is a projector.

MiniLED with thousands of dimming zones

Xiaomi opted for miniLED technology with 3,864 independently controllable zones. This should ensure decent contrast and minimize the halo effect around bright objects on a dark background. Peak brightness reaches up to 5,700 nits – not continuously and not across the entire surface, of course, but it should be noticeable when displaying HDR content.

The display covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space and supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. It also features Xiaomi Qingshan eye protection and Filmmaker Mode, which respects the creators’ original intent without unnecessary adjustments.

165Hz at 4K

This is where it gets interesting. The Xiaomi TV S Pro promises up to 330Hz refresh rate at lower resolutions and 165Hz at full 4K. Some sources even mention 288 Hz with specific settings.

Also present is MEMC technology (Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation), which interpolates the image at 4K and 120Hz, creating artificial intermediate frames for smoother motion. This can be helpful for sports or action movies, but for games, it usually causes issues due to increased input lag.

Seven speakers with Dolby Atmos

Xiaomi integrated a seven-speaker system tuned by Harman into the 98-inch model. Specifically, it’s a 2.1.2 configuration, meaning two 25W high-frequency speakers, one 15W bass speaker, and two 8W tweeters.

The system supports Dolby Atmos, so spatial audio should work well even without an external soundbar. Of course, if you have a truly high-quality home theater, you can utilize the optical audio output or HDMI eARC.

Google TV and quad-core processor

Under the hood, a quad-core processor runs with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. The operating system is Google TV, giving you access to all common streaming applications – Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, YouTube, and more.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, an Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Xiaomi has also implemented glare-reducing technology on the display, which should improve viewing in bright rooms.

Price and availability: China yes, Europe a question mark

The 98-inch Xiaomi TV S Pro Mini LED Series 2026 is available for pre-order in China for 15,999 yuan, which is approximately 47,000 CZK.

The brand has previously launched its TVs in the Czech Republic, but always with significant delays and not all models. Whether the 98-inch giant will appear here is not yet clear. If it does, expect a price closer to 60,000 to 80,000 CZK including VAT.
