Last week, we exclusively brought you the information that Xiaomi is preparing to bring its new OpenWear Stereo Pro open headphones to Czechia. Yesterday, our findings were confirmed – the Chinese giant officially announced the global availability of these unusual headphones. And the price? Exactly as we predicted.

Five drivers in nine grams

Official specifications confirmed what we wrote last week – each earbud weighs only 9.7 grams, yet it hides an army of sound drivers inside. The main 18×13mm dynamic driver is complemented by two balanced armatures and a piezoelectric tweeter.

Xiaomi boasts tuning by Harman AudioEFX – the same people who tune AKG and JBL. Plus Hi-Res Audio support via the LDAC codec.

Open design is not just a fashion whim

Why would someone want headphones that don’t block their ears? There are more reasons than you might think. Runners appreciate being able to hear traffic. Parents need to be aware of their children. People in the office don’t want to be cut off from the world.

Moreover, OpenWear Stereo Pro addresses the biggest problem of open headphones – sound leakage. Xiaomi has implemented an active system that generates inverse waves and minimizes what the surroundings hear.

The titanium wire with shape memory adapts to every ear. Testing for 5,000 bending cycles means it will withstand years of daily putting on and taking off.

45 hours of battery life puts earbuds to shame

With the case, OpenWear Stereo Pro lasts up to 45 hours. That’s almost two days of continuous listening. The headphones themselves can handle 8.5 hours – a full workday without charging.

Fast charging is another ace up its sleeve. Ten minutes in the case = two hours of music. Forgot to charge? During your morning shower, you’ll get enough juice for your commute to and from work.

Bluetooth 5.4 means a stable connection and multipoint pairing. You can be connected to your phone and laptop simultaneously. Plus, music automatically pauses when someone calls you.

The headphones support 360° spatial audio with head tracking. When watching movies or playing games, the sound adapts to where you are looking.

IP54 certification means resistance to sweat and rain. They are not swimming headphones, but they will survive normal rain or intense training without problems.

When and where can you get them?

In Czechia, the headphones cost 3,890 CZK and can be purchased from all major retailers such as Alza, Datart, or Smarty.
