Xiaomi Pad 8 tablets impress with a beautiful display, high performance, and a sophisticated system! We know the Czech prices and availability Home News At MWC 2026 in Barcelona, Xiaomi introduced the Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro tablets — both feature a 3.2K display with 144 Hz The Pad 8 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite on a 3nm process, offers 67W charging, and a 50Mpx camera The basic Pad 8 starts at 8,999 CZK in an introductory offer, Pad 8 Pro from 13,499 CZK Sdílejte: Jakub Kárník Published: 28. 2. 2026 10:00 The MWC 2026 trade fair in Barcelona doesn’t end with phones for Xiaomi. We are right on site, and immediately after the introduction of the Xiaomi 17 series, the second announcement of the day followed — the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro tablets. Two models, one goal: to convince users that a tablet can replace a laptop while maintaining the portability we are used to with tablets. Whether they succeeded, we will yet see — but the specifications are at least interesting. The thinnest tablets Xiaomi has ever introduced to the global market Xiaomi Pad 8: affordable model with Snapdragon and 45W charging Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro: Snapdragon 8 Elite, 67 W, and the choice for demanding users Matte Glass version: for those who draw or work outdoors Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro: a pen for serious work Keyboards and cases: from tablet to notebook HyperOS 3 and AI features: productivity as the main argument Summary: strong competition for iPad and Galaxy Tab The thinnest tablets Xiaomi has ever introduced to the global market Both models share the same body — an all-metal unibody design with dimensions of 251.22 × 173.42 mm, a thickness of 5.75 mm, and a weight of 485 grams. These are values that Xiaomi describes as the historically thinnest and lightest tablets it has ever launched on the global market. The Pad 8 Pro Matte Glass version is slightly thicker (5.80 mm) and heavier (494 g) due to the special display surface — more on that in a moment. The display is identical for both models: an 11.2-inch panel with 3.2K resolution (3,200 × 2,136 pixels), 345 ppi density, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of 800 nits. The 3:2 aspect ratio is more pleasant for working with documents than the common 16:10 — less scrolling, more content at once. Added value includes Dolby Vision support and a set of TÜV Rheinland certifications for eye protection. A quad-speaker system with Dolby Atmos certification and a volume increase of up to 200% complements the visual features on the audio side. The 9,200 mAh battery capacity is identical for both models. However, charging differs — and significantly so. Xiaomi Pad 8: affordable model with Snapdragon and 45W charging The basic model is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset on a 4nm manufacturing process with a configuration of 1× Cortex-X4 at 3.2 GHz, three A720 cores at 3.0 GHz, two at 2.8 GHz, and two efficient cores at 2.0 GHz. Graphics are handled by Adreno 825. Compared to the previous generation, Xiaomi reports a 32% increase in CPU performance and a 67% increase in graphics performance. This is more than enough for everyday work, multitasking, and smooth content playback. Charging reaches 45 W (Xiaomi refers to this as Turbo), memory variants are 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB. Cameras are standard for tablet proportions: a rear 13Mpx sensor with f/2.2 aperture and PDAF, and an 8Mpx front camera. This is sufficient for video conferences; a tablet is not intended for serious photography. Available colors are Pine Green, Gray, and Blue. Recommended price: 10,499 CZK for 8/128 GB and 11,999 CZK for 8/256 GB. In an introductory offer (until March 29, 2026), the Pad 8 starts at 8,999 CZK. Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro: Snapdragon 8 Elite, 67 W, and the choice for demanding users The Pad 8 Pro is essentially a flagship. Under the hood, it runs Snapdragon 8 Elite on a 3nm process with Oryon CPU cores — 2× 4.32 GHz and 6× 3.53 GHz — and Adreno 830 graphics. This is the same chipset that powered last year’s flagship smartphones, including the Xiaomi 15. Xiaomi reports an 81% increase in CPU performance and a 103% increase in graphics performance compared to its predecessor. These numbers speak for themselves — the Pad 8 Pro will have no problems even with graphically demanding applications or complex multitasking. Charging reaches 67 W HyperCharge, memory variants are 8/256 GB (with LPDDR5X) and 12/512 GB (with LPDDR5T). The camera equipment is above average for the tablet category: a rear 50Mpx sensor with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, and a chip size of 1/2.76 inches, and a 32Mpx front camera — this will be especially appreciated by users who rely on their tablet for video conferences or document scanning. Recommended price: 14,499 CZK for 8/256 GB and 16,999 CZK for 12/512 GB. Available from 13,499 CZK in an introductory offer. Matte Glass version: for those who draw or work outdoors The Pad 8 Pro will also come in a Matte Glass variant — and this is not just a cosmetic matter. The display uses nano-textured etching with an advanced anti-reflective layer, which, according to Xiaomi, reduces glare by 44% compared to the previous generation. For indoor work with artificial lighting, this is a pleasant bonus, and outdoors on a sunny day, it makes a noticeable difference. The matte surface also improves friction for working with a stylus — if you use a stylus regularly, Matte Glass is a natural choice for you. With it, the thickness increases to 5.80 mm, and the weight to 494 grams. Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro: a pen for serious work Along with the tablets, Xiaomi introduced the new Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro stylus. Key number: 17.5 grams. This is lighter than most competing pens, and it’s noticeable during longer work sessions. The pen recognizes pressure for precise writing and drawing and supports gestures like pinching or double-tapping — small details that speed up work with documents and graphics. It is compatible with the entire Pad 8 series, as well as the Pad 7 Series and Pad 6S Pro 12.4. The Focus Pen Pro costs 1,999 CZK separately. A bundled package — Pad 8 (8/256 GB) + Focus Pen Pro — will cost 13,299 CZK, or 11,299 CZK in an introductory offer. Keyboards and cases: from tablet to notebook Three types of accessories are available for both tablets. The Xiaomi Pad 8 / 8 Pro Cover is a basic protective case for 699 CZK. The Xiaomi Pad 8 / 8 Pro Keyboard adds a physical keyboard for 1,999 CZK. And the premium Focus Keyboard for 3,499 CZK is apparently designed for users who truly use the tablet as a laptop replacement. It also has a touchpad and is better crafted. HyperOS 3 and AI features: productivity as the main argument Both tablets run on HyperOS 3, and Xiaomi works with it differently than with phones — tablets here have room to show greater value. Multitasking now supports screen splitting in a 5:5 ratio (two windows side-by-side) and 1:9 for sidebar management. The improved Workstation mode displays more applications in the Dock for quick access. The browser in PC-Level Browser mode can handle hover previews, right-clicks, and an extended toolbar — these are features that no one expects on a phone, but make sense on a tablet. The HyperAI feature set includes AI writing, speech recognition, simultaneous translation, AI interpreter, and Google’s Circle to Search. Summary: strong competition for iPad and Galaxy Tab The Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro are a compelling offer on paper. Snapdragon 8 Elite in the Pro model, a 3.2K display with 144 Hz, slimness, and a battery over 9,000 mAh — this is equipment that directly challenges the Samsung Galaxy Tab S Series and mid-range iPads. At the same time, they are significantly more affordable. The question mark remains with the ecosystem and software — HyperOS has historically handled tablets better than phones, but its competitiveness against iPadOS and One UI is an open question. We are looking forward to the tablets in the editorial office and will return to the Pad 8 series with a detailed review.
