Xiaomi Redmi 15C 5G to bring welcome improvements in battery and a more subdued design

The popular Redmi series of affordable phones will soon expand with a new model. Thanks to a leak, specifications and official renders of the upcoming Redmi 15C 5G (published by XpertPick) have appeared online, which should bring several improvements over the current model. The new device will primarily offer a larger battery and faster charging, thus satisfying users looking for long battery life in the lower price category. The global launch of the device is expected already in August this year.

Giant Display and New Design

According to leaks, the Redmi 15C 5G can boast a 6.9″ LCD display with HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, which will ensure smooth animations and a pleasant user experience. On the front, there’s a teardrop notch for the selfie camera, while the rear features a rectangular camera module. Although the module visually appears to contain multiple cameras, it will likely be just one main 50Mpx sensor complemented by an LED flash, similar to its predecessor.

The phone should be available in three color variants – green, lavender, and black. The renders suggest that Xiaomi has toned down its design approach this time, opting for a less prominent look. Last year’s model featured a distinctive circular camera module placed at the top of the back, seemingly imitating expensive flagships. The Redmi 15C, instead, has become more modest and its appearance resembles models from the older Redmi Note 13 series.

Performance and Other Specifications

We do not yet have specific information about the chipset that will power the Redmi 15C 5G. However, we know that the phone will offer the HyperOS 2.0 overlay based on Android 15, which will bring users up-to-date software features and improvements. For security, a fingerprint reader located on the side of the device will be used.

Regarding storage and memory, the device is expected to be available in two configurations – 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. These specifications should be sufficient for everyday use, browsing social media, and consuming multimedia content.

Massive Battery and Faster Charging

Undoubtedly, the most interesting improvement over its predecessor is the battery. The Redmi 15C 5G should offer a massive 6,000mAh battery, which is a significant increase compared to the 5,160mAh battery in the Redmi 14C. This should ensure even longer battery life on a single charge, which was already one of the main advantages of the previous generation.

In addition to the larger capacity, users can also look forward to faster 33W charging, which is a significant leap from the 18W offered by the current model. This will allow the phone to be charged significantly faster, which will be especially appreciated by active users.

When can we expect it?

According to available information, the Redmi 15 series should appear on global markets already in August. However, it is not yet confirmed whether and when exactly the phone will reach our regions. Given that the previous generation is sold here, it is highly probable that the new model will also make its way to Czech customers.
