Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro+ for 9 thousand: Great features and clear differences from its predecessor Home Articles Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro+ arrives in the Czech Republic with an introductory price of 9,099 CZK It offers a significantly larger battery, a more elegant design, and higher structural durability It also brings a faster Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset or a new 200Mpx sensor Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 20. 1. 2026 03:30 Some of last year’s most popular mid-range Android phones are getting their successors. Last week, Xiaomi officially introduced the Redmi Note 15 series on the Czech market, and now individual models can be purchased from all major electronics retailers. The family of five devices is traditionally led by the Pro+ model, which for 10,999 CZK (on sale for 9,099 CZK) offers features that even more expensive smartphones wouldn’t be ashamed of – in some aspects, it even has comparable specifications to flagships (for example, in terms of durability or charging speed). When it comes to upgrades, the Redmi Note series typically speaks more of evolution than revolution. Xiaomi systematically improves its phones every year, so it usually doesn’t happen that some of their components get stuck in time (which differentiates them from models by more conservative manufacturers). The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is therefore very similar to its predecessor, but brings a number of improvements that are definitely worth knowing about. Let’s break them down in more detail. More elegant design and higher durability Battery capacity has significantly increased New chipset brings a rather small performance increase Main camera with a new 200Mpx sensor Larger and flat AMOLED display Newer, yet "old" operating system Where did Xiaomi take a step back? Conclusion: Is it worth considering an upgrade? More elegant design and higher durability In terms of design, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is quite faithful to last year’s model. It doesn’t stray too far from the concept introduced then, it’s just processed a bit more elegantly. The centered camera island no longer protrudes as much, as its shade perfectly matches the rest of the back on the blue and black variants. An interesting feature is the brown “Mocha” version, which is given a more premium feel by the faux leather surface on the back and a gold-styled side frame and camera module. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ has also pushed durability a bit further. Like its predecessor, it boasts IP68 protection, but theoretically, it can be submerged in fresh water up to a depth of 2 m for 30 minutes (for the “fourteen,” the manufacturer stated 1.5 m). Battery capacity has significantly increased The most significant upgrade on paper is seen in the battery capacity, which has increased by 1,390 mAh year-on-year. Xiaomi is following last year’s trend – even phones outside the premium segment have started receiving silicon-carbon cells, which allow for a significant increase in capacity while maintaining the overall device thickness. As a result, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ offers 6,500 mAh, which, according to the manufacturer, is sufficient for 25 hours of video playback (the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ product page only mentions 9 hours) or 47 hours of continuous calling. This year, Xiaomi has also enriched the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ with support for wired reverse charging with up to 22.5 W of power, which will help you top up your headphones, smartwatches, or other accessories (and in an emergency, you can even charge someone else’s phone). New chipset brings a rather small performance increase Now, a not-so-surprising but no less important fact: The processor has also undergone a classic change. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ once again relies on a chip from American Qualcomm, specifically the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. According to Xiaomi, the overall performance has increased by almost 10%. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 was introduced to the world last summer and brings the identical core configuration (1+3+4) as the previous model. The highest frequency on the main core reaches up to 2.7 GHz, which represents a slight increase compared to the former 2.5 GHz, and it’s important to highlight Wi-Fi 6E support, which the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ could not boast. CHCI REDMI NOTE 15 PRO+ In the basic configuration, you once again get 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB of storage. I’m a bit disappointed that Xiaomi in this case sticks with UFS 2.2 technology and doesn’t offer something faster. Main camera with a new 200Mpx sensor The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ has not abandoned the 200Mpx resolution on the main camera, but the image sensor itself has reportedly been changed. Xiaomi claims that the model uses a “brand new” fourth-generation sensor with a size of 1/1.4”, providing “an unprecedented level of detail.” Its main magic reportedly lies in the 200Mpx AI Engine technology, which ensures image enhancement through multi-frame fusion using artificial intelligence. Xiaomi also mentions 2x lossless zoom and detailed portrait photos. The ultrawide camera, with its 8 Mpx resolution and identical aperture (f/2.2), appears unchanged. Larger and flat AMOLED display Where we immediately see a difference, however, is the display. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ has grown in size and this time features a 6.83” AMOLED panel instead of 6.67”, but most importantly, the screen is completely flat, not curved. Here too, Xiaomi follows a trend in which manufacturers are gradually moving away from curved displays. Parameters, with a few exceptions, remain practically identical. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ offers a 1.5K resolution (2772×1280 pixels, 447 ppi density) and slightly higher peak brightness (3,200 nits instead of 3,000). An interesting feature is the increased contrast ratio, which in practice could lead to sharper and clearer details or more vibrant colors. Also worth mentioning is the 3,840 Hz PWM dimming (double the original value), which could make the screen more comfortable for some users’ eyes. Although the protective glass is once again Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, Xiaomi highlights the AI Wet Touch 2.0 technology, which ensures higher accuracy when operating the phone with wet hands. Newer, yet “old” operating system The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ naturally comes with a newer version of the operating system. It uses Android 15 with the more modern HyperOS 2 overlay, which includes a suite of intelligent HyperAI functions. As we detailed in several Xiaomi phone reviews last year, it contains AI-powered features that also work in Czech and can help, for example, with text writing or real-time interpretation. The dictaphone application can even transcribe spoken words directly during the recording process and has no problem identifying individual speakers. Of course, there is also an integrated set of AI functions from Google revolving around the Gemini platform. However, it is disappointing again this year that Xiaomi did not implement the latest version of the system in the Redmi Note 15 Pro+. While it is rolling out Android 16 and HyperOS 3 to older models, with this new release, you will receive an older Android version and overlay. Where did Xiaomi take a step back? Although the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ generally brings a number of clever improvements, it has taken a step back in some respects. Last year’s model, for example, offered up to 120W battery charging, whereas this year’s Pro+ comes with “only” 100W (still a fantastic value, hence the quotation marks). Xiaomi also decided to remove the macro sensor, although to be honest, it doesn’t bother me personally at all. The “fourteen” is also generally a smaller phone, while the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ has grown in width (on the other hand, we can praise its slightly lower weight). Conclusion: Is it worth considering an upgrade? If you currently own a Redmi Note 14 Pro+ and are asking yourself whether it makes sense to upgrade, then the answer is quite clear: no. While the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ offers pleasant improvements over its predecessor, at its core, it’s a very similar smartphone that won’t offer you enough extra to justify spending several thousand. CHCI REDMI NOTE 15 PRO+ However, if you are using a Redmi Note 13 Pro+ or an even older mid-range model and feel that you would like a smartphone with fresh features suitable for 2026, you should consider the Redmi Note 15 Pro+. Traditionally, it offers a very good combination of parameters and generally boasts very balanced specifications, which would not be easy to find among competitors at the current price of 9,099 CZK.
